I am so shocked as my back garden cable was sharing with other neighbour as they try to stealing my connection. First time I notice it today. I haven't been to back garden for months. Report to virgin media now.

Blimey, you have no luck at all do you?. Someone hacking into your wireless last night , now a neighbour jacking your cable. All that as well as changing provider more than a nappy is changed. Your life's like a box of chocolates....

Them being on the same coaxial cable drop as you means nothing as far as them 'stealing' your connection goes.

Simply pointing out that all providers have issues, VM included, however not convinced Telfords are genuine

Why do people keep replying to telford, I visit this forum infrequently but he/she is either leaving/joining a better deal with VM/ fitting a faster (2 GIG) network card etc.

Keyboards cost money & you also risk a faster onset of RSI :p:

Re: Virgin Media 150Mb Coming 2014

Thanks Virgin Media for three months free broadband with 152Meg :) first month of 152Mb is free, the next two more months is £47.00 (free) out of -£54.53 and after that, the bill will be left over with in credit of -£7.53. They offer me three months free of charge and removed 12 months contract. And they had admitted that it was high utilisation in my area and the fix could be within 3 months. They also asked me to ring back if there is no fix time as I have two option choices, leave or they could give me a further free of charge. They admitted that a staff shouldn't have upgraded me to 152Mb as a mistake because of problem ongoing with 152Mb in Telford area.

Oh well, at least I got three months free! :)

Yup! I do believe my street cable is shared by up to 25 households! In my street each pair or households is connected to a common CATV connector under the pavement.

Even if, unusually, premises are are sharing the cable on the premises side of the street connection, normal user id and protocols completely separate the two modems and TV boxes as discrete end points.

Somebody is tilting at windmills here. Don Quixote was regarded as somewhat mad. In the modern world he would probably be regarded as being somewhere on the autism spectrum.

Edit...............................<sighs deeply>................................. .

Further edit.............................................. .........................................

From the optical node, effectively everyone is on the same coax cable (Think of it as "WiFi over coax"). Sharing connections only causes problems if there is not high enough signal level in the drop cable to drive both installations.

Makes a mockery of the rest of the customer base allowing one customer who has probably never made the company a profit to use resources like that and they need to grow a pair and put the address down as to not be serviced.

Meanwhile various people on the official forums with severe and ongoing congestion problems are told to call in once a month for a refund. I'm not a VM customer, if I were I'd be pretty annoyed about there being a set of rules for everyone else and apparently absolutely none for one particular unprofitable customer.

That's assuming he/she is being honest with what they post....

I have a open utilisation fault and have been told exactly this. You can only get a discount if you ring in each month ..

You shouldn't need one to get 152Mb. However if the SH1 is performing badly in respect of WiFi and stability then you have as much chance as anybody else of getting a SH2 to replace it.
