If we hear anything before the end of January over release dates I will be surprised but it would be a pleasant surprise.

this is ridiculous, can anyone on here confirm for definite if tivo will be launched this week? according to digital fanactic it was supposed to be, any more news digital fanactic?

Re: TiVo

Well at least Masque is doing his best to manage expectations but shouldn't VM have been doing this earlier given that they have previously said that it will be available end of 2010.

Re: TiVo

When you allegedly have shop and CS staff saying it'll be available from the beginning of January, it's hard to manage expectations. It's within VM's power to either give them a real date or tell them to stop making stuff up.

I'll believe it when there's a press release...

No one will confirm any dates until they are officially announced by Virginmedia due to the confidentiality clause in all staff contracts.

I know as much as everyone else on this forum at present.

Staff are instructed to direct customers to http://www.virginmedia.com/TiVo, nothing else. Unfortunately it's hard to stop people making things up.

You may have noticed that I and others have not said anything about release dates because we know as much as you do.

Whats the rush peeps its commonly known there is bugs and only two tuners and the prices being spun around (not confirmed) are total ludicrus,I want one myself but not complete with bugs.I have a SA V+ at mo never have any major probs and 3 tuners aint gonna part with that before i know bugs are sorted and aint gonna pay £150 neither,If people dont rush to get VM will have no choice but to have a rethink and come up with a more resonable price.Sky have already been offering exisiting customers the 1tb drive for £100 and they have the hd channels to back it VM don`t

I was talking about YouTube being available at launch. I haven't mentioned a date :)

In several threads on this forum people complain if VM don't announce something, then speculate on what we might get and when we might get it, then call a gradual roll-out 'stringing things out'.

VM are doing the right thing by testing the boxes and the supporting infrastructure with a small control group of staff and customers. They are probably restricted somewhat anyway by the number of boxes in production so far and by the number of engineers available to install them. They also took the appropriate step of allowing pre-registration for those interested in having TiVo so that they can judge the likely uptake and order boxes and train installation personnel accordingly.

Stop moaning! You'll most likely have TiVo available to you sometime this quarter and with a more stable firmware/software in the box and a more fully featured back-end to support it as well as a larger amount of content to choose from.

I'll moan if I want to, wheather you like it or not.

Actually, I wasn't actually moaning; I was expressing my opinion.
