Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

I saw a old DQM change his profile picture to the euro flag on Facebook.

I posted, soon they'll be off my car and we'll be out soon.

I did post that if it cost me my job so be it, it just a job.

he posted thats a stupid comment.

I was going to clarify by stating what I've said here, but I couldn't as he's removed me as a friend and blocked me, he is about 5 years younger, but his actions I'd say 30.

So I guess I can't get a reference if needed :D

His loss.

The funny thing is I can talk to people I work with who are remainers civilised, but I guess he can't.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Sorry but another rant about my lovely sister.

Last night my lovely sister called me a stupid bitch although she put the (F) word ending in ING in front of stupid bitch, then she looked right in our car using her favourite word starting with the letter F and ending in ING a load of morons how lovely that was for my son to witness. I'm not saying that me and hubby never swear but really has she no shame or class at all. This was shouted at us in my parents driveway as we were leaving. To say that this left our 15 year son (who is a young 15 year old may I add) bewildered as well as shocked as to why he was being called a effing moron and his Mum a stupid bitch is a understatement, the only reply I gave her was oh shut up you blooter this was said may I add not shouted. Although I should not have replied but I did and she really is the most disgusting person I know, I mean who acts like that so openly and in earshot of their dying Mothers open bedroom window. Although my youngest thought the word I used was fantastic as he had never heard of this word before and naturally I had to tell him although the word blooter is not a swearing it is still not a nice word to use because it's Scottish slang for an unattractive woman and I should never have used it and it was wrong of his Mum to say such a word in front of him.

I did to say to him now what did you learn from that and I had to chuckle when he said Mum are you scared of her Mum as you just told me to get in the car and shut the door and I said no son that is how you handle idiots you ignore them after all you cannot argue with ignorance to which I explained who was the stupid bitch the one going in their car in silence or the one ranting and raving in the street, to which he replied my Aunt then I said who was acting like a moron and now looks the fool to which he again replied my Aunt.

Hubby and I spoke about this last night and he said that he cannot understand as to why I remain so calm and I said I'm not calm I'm angry that she has now included my son in her abusive ways but I need to set an example to our son. What my sister does not know is this was all caught on dash cam which hubby has saved this as he is going to speak to her hubby who is a lovely quite man about her abusive behaviour and this really is not on especially in front of our son. I do get the feeling that she is trying to goad me into a reaction as everything she has done in the past has failed so she thought that she would try this in front of my son who is I admit my Achilles heel but since she has no children she does not realise that as a Mother you need to set a example even if you do feel like getting out the car and having words and trust me I did last night feel like this, but how could I do that when I have always preached to my children walk away from trouble, do not rise to the bait no matter what is being said or done, etc

I do wonder why she needs to rant and rave so loudly as there is honestly no need for this behaviour at all in my opinion as I'm a great believer in that someone who shouts and swears should be ignored as getting into a argument with someone like this only brings you down to their level.

Good luck with all that Den, glad you don't have to suffer the dreaded... :erm:

My wife had that done, starved for 48 hours and turned up to hospital at 7.30 am only to find the equipment had just broken down so she'd have to go through it all over again. Luckily the laid on extra sessions the following weekend so she didn't have to wait long.

@ weenie. When I read your post I kept thinking " she's jealous !!". I bet she went red in the face and stamped her feet when you didn't react to her tantrum.

You have so much, a family who love you, a son to be proud of, and you must appear, to her, to be able to juggle everything that is being thrown at you ... though I realise that underneath the surface you are paddling like crazy to keep your head above water at the moment.

I pity her, unsuccessfully trying to make you give a public display of your short comings so that she can try to feel justified in the way she has chosen to live her own self centred life.

:tu: for handling her tantrums in such a grown-up way. <hugs>

Weenie, what was your relationship like with your sister before your mums illness?

It could be stress and she is just taking out her frustrations on you.

My dad and his sister had a very rough patch when their mum had a heart attack and she had recovered and insisted on looking after out pooch, she told her daughter how accused my dad of trying to kill her, her returned fire with like the time she came home from work to find her belongings on the doorstep.

Their OK, but my dad still hasn't fully forgotten, and this was 20+ year ago.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Hom3r it has always been on her terms we are very much like oil and water, I'm very family oriented always have been she is older than me by 6 years. I do not understand her nor her beliefs but I have always made excuses for her to hubby, friends and family. She is very career minded made the decision to not have kids and when the subject came up with her 1st and 2nd husband she divorced them, then she met her 3rd hubby who had a child from his previous marriage and this marriage has worked out for her so far thank goodness as they have been married now for 10 years. Her hubby's daughter just had her 1st baby a couple of months ago and they waited till they could get a cheap flight to see what was her hubby's 1st grandchild may I say that my sister is extremely well off and trust me money is no object to her, now me and hubby would be at the hospital waiting to meet our 1st Grandchild. This year on what is going to be my Mother's last Mothers day she went a girls holiday something that I can't my head around why would you not make your Mother's last Mother's day even more special. When I asked if she could help me with hospital appointments etc she said "I cannot commit nor confirm what I can do" I mean this was our parents that I was asking for help with not a business meeting. So Hom3r there you go that is my sister and I will never forgive her for what and who she is I'm afraid as my eyes have been truly opened (it has only took 48 years LOL)

When I do my parents shopping, housework etc she makes catty comments about here comes Mother earth under her breath she also made this comment just last week when I said to my Dad that I was busy and he would need to wait for his shopping till I dropped the wee one off at his RAF Cadets

Life seems to just keep kicking you when your down, yesterday my car would not start, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree then produced a error code saying Stop/Start auto System fault  so I phoned Lookers where I bought the car from and they said don't worry your covered under Nissan Assistance anyway the man from Nissan assist came out checked things out and said your battery is sitting at 10 and should be sitting at 12, as the car is under warranty just book it in and I will send them my report. Although he got the car is working again I'm not happy at using it until this problem is sorted. I would not have thought a 15 month old car would have a battery problem but the chap said that he suspects a cell is away :(

The car is booked in on Friday at 10:30 so we will see what they say, hubby is certain that the battery should be covered under warranty that if it is the battery. I just hope there is not a underlying fault causing the battery to drain as I really need my car atm as my parents need me.

Long afternoon at a new hospital yesterday has left me knackered to-day. Thought I had a day off but got a phone call saying that my two new Consultants were both available. So... I now have 5 Consultants spread over 3 hospitals, some good news though is that they all seem to be happy working together. YAY.

Now just have to get everything sorted for an operation and, my real moan, find a way to stop my GP being a pain in the butt.

Thanks everyone. I attend a multi GP practice so I have reluctantly decided to change my long standing and previously very supportive GP and hope that a different GP will be more willing to accept the guidance of my Consultants and not decide that he knows better.

I hope that my operation can be done soon, just have to get my immune system to behave. Finger, eyes and toes crossed. :)

Congrats to the Met Orifice for their continual, staggering inability to predict 2 hours worth of weather and spoiling/wasting my flying hours today.

l know what you mean as they have these big Supercomputers in Exeter and they can't even predict the right weather a few miles away many a time.

Looking through my address book and realising that a great percentage of the people in it are no longer with us, also several names of ones I don't remember how sad it that?:(

Its very sad Tinky as one does not think about these things when one is younger but as we get into middle age and further on into our twilight years it becomes sadly more apparent to us all that some of our family and close friends have passed away and that those holes in our life can never be replaced again.:(

So sorry to hear this, I know how you're feeling and how hard it'll be for you to get through the next few days and weeks but you will get through them and you've got plenty of friends here that will help.

A trivial moan given weenie's very sad news, but work take the absolute Michael. They told me they would do what they could to accomodate me, I wouldn't be asked to do overnight stays and all that. Then today they want me to go and do an overnight stay Sunday. I don't want to, can't do it and now am fighting with the manager for ASDA, manager for my Sunday job, and Area Manager to get out of ASDA without getting a no show strike on my record.

You need to make sure all communication about you can't do overnight work is in writing and not just verbal.

Sorry to hear this weenie but she's no longer suffering and nor would she want you and your family to I'm sure. It's so hard to do at times like this but do try to think of all the happy times you had together and that she's at peace now. The tears will flow of course but in time the pain will subside and be replaced with smiles as you remember the mum she was. :hugs:

Got sat out of last night's count, totally mucked up in the freezer (which is unlike me, and had I known which one was being audited I could have done the tag on the cage of ice cubes, which was just literally scanning 14 full boxes of ice cubes!

Even looking away the feel and the thought of needles can make a grown man or woman agonize.

When my house was built some numpty decided to plant 4 hybrid black poplar trees in the front garden. They are now approaching 80ft tall and the roots are undermining the driveway and the drains have had to be repaired on several occasions recently. There's a great deal of expense looming on the horizon methinks.

Not really Den plus they've been there for over 50 years. Fortunately they're not really close enough to damage anyone else's property. It would be a shame to get rid though as they're a haven for wildlife.
