Sent email again with contact number and got a call within the hour from a very apologetic lady and we have come to a resolution of a higher broadband speed and a reduction in my monthly payment which appealed to me so I am staying with Virgin also she could not give me a specific date but did say that an agreement with BT would be soon and the sports channel would be restored... the only downer of the afternoon was when she found out I was a Liverpool supporter she did snigger a little but she was not happy when i told her under Moyes the manc would finish 4th this year so a big thank you for supplying the email address

The channels are broadcast over the air, so all Freeview boxes will see them, but unless you've got a box with a suitable decoder card (e.g. a BT box) they will be scrambled

Just off phone to retentions currently pay 125 a month VIP package includes TiVo VHD+ and VHD box now £99 per month she stated that BT sports will be in place for 17/08 and that sports 3, 4, F1, news and sports news HD will follow deal has been signed

I know at this stage all Virgin can say is they are in negotiations with BT. It would be good however if they could confirm:

1. If they are closer to a deal than they were 2 months ago.
2. If they are confident of being able to agree a deal.
3. If they have set a deadline to have the deal done by i.e. if no deal by 16th August they are walking away.
4. Do they have a plan B i.e. they will invest in more channels and content.

I know it's difficult for Virgin to pass comment however BT have been very forthcoming in terms of how the negotiations have been going, as far as they are concerned, on Twitter and Facebook.

My landlords had Sky here before I moved in.

When I moved in I got Virgin installed, and they cut the wires from the sky dish. How spiteful and petty can you get.

My girlfriend's dad has a spare Sky box. So if Virgin hadn't have done that I could have got BT Sport on that Sky box.

No i dont have BT Broadband. Yes i got a BT ID for the app as you have to sign up so you get an ID when you sign up so you can check your account online which means i can watch app and online

Watched the Jags v Utd on Bt Sports. Not a bad game for 0-0 but the coverage was ESPN rebadged.

I'll judge when I see the coverage of the EPL but it's not on a par with Sky IMHO, who I detest (apart from jeff stelling)

It's a really good stream for BT Sports/ESPN as well. Very impressed. If Virgin don't get it I'd be quite happy watching it rather than another type of stream.

You are unlikely to be able to obtain evidence for something that, by it's very nature, is obtained on a nod and a wink basis.

If this means that you wish to discount the information put forward (which you are perfectly entitled to do) then so be it.

Negotiations often involve both parties using different methods for different (often hidden) agendas.

In this case it appears that each party thought that the other would concede just before the launch date.

Absolutely disgraceful, it amazes me that some employees seem not to have noticed the current economic climate and high level of unemployment.

I say well done, management can only weed out rougue employees (who have the capacity to spoil things for everybody else) if people take the time to alert them to poor service, inappropriate remarks, bad attitude etc.
