Theo Walcott is on the verge of ending speculation about his future by signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

The 23-year-old England forward, who is into the final six months of his current deal, rejected a five-year offer worth £75,000 a week in August.

But agreements have now been reached between Arsenal and their top scorer, who could put pen to paper on Friday if legal formalities can be completed.

Arsenal, who face Chelsea on Sunday, are set to confirm the news next week.
End it already.

I don't believe Cavani. It was a rumour and all Wenger did was say he liked him. He is too expensive and then there are the wages and so and so on. Just not going to happen. Zaha could be but we'll see.

"With due respect to Pochettino, what does he know about our game? What does he know about the Premier League?

Possible link with Verdu in the summer:
Quote:

An interesting sub-plot for Southampton fans is the potential summer arrival of talented Espanyol midfielder Joan Verdu, a creative playmaker widely regarded as the Catalan club's best player.
Verdu, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season and has not agreed a new deal, with the club struggling to find funds to pay him as they seek to reduce their debts.
A host of clubs across Europe are known to be keen on securing his services for nothing in June. Considering his history with Pochettino, it's fairly safe to add Southampton to that list of suitors.

Bastia, Florians club have been dealing with a lot of free agents both incoming and outgoing for years. Most recently Sadio Diallo moved to Rennes for 3.5mil, their biggest fee recieved in years. they have no money. they wanted Squillaci but couldnt afford his wages to save their lives. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa: Newcastle agree fee for Montpellier defender

Newcastle United are set to confirm the signing of Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa early next week.

The two clubs have agreed a fee, thought to be £6.7m, for the 23-year-old France international.

He will be Newcastle's second signing of the transfer window after France right-back Mathieu Debuchy.

Manager Alan Pardew has moved to strengthen his defence after conceding 15 goals in five league games and winning only three of their last 18.

The Newcastle boss is also facing a fight to keep hold of his captain Fabricio Coloccini after the central defender asked to leave the club.

Gourcuff isn't what he was and I would rather have a conventional striker and/or a more defensive minded midfielder.

It was a foul although that didn't cause the goal, play should have been stopped prior however.

the passing by arsenal is poor. No movement, no retention. Headless chickens.

Chelsea are passing around them, doing an arsenal to arsenal, except they are also scoring :D
