NO ONE believes him, simply put, he's lying.

I'm sorry, it your gonna go showing off how you got something from VM that nobody else seems to be getting, it stands to reason that people will want proof.

Liar liar, pants on fire!

I did not know that. I should keep my eye out, because I'd love to get in on the 15.3 tests.

Can you get a picture of Virgin Media TiVo slide remote which you " supposedly " got with your 2nd TiVo or were you lying ?

You could just buy one from the USA, there's been a price drop recently. I added it up with my Amazon UK account, with international shipping it'd be about £39 all in.

My main concern would be buying one, it works well for a while, then with the release of 15.3 the code to use it is suddenly "dummied out". I'm sure the devs wouldn't do that, but who knows?

zekeisaszekedoes I'd hang on to your money, it's very doubtfull the US TiVo slide remote will work with the Virgin TiVo. The US slide remote uses a bluetooth conection a different animal to the Wi-Fi connection used here.

Hi all, I purchased a Tivo slide remote before i had the tivo installed, and of course havent been able to use it, until this morning when the box upgraded to 15.2! Its working a treat, need to program it for the tv volume control and figure out why the power button turns the tivo on, but not off. No big deal. The keyboard makes using the search and youtube so much more pleasant. About time i say :-)

Cheers Ben, I read that post a little while ago but couldn't be bothered to go find it. It's what tempted me to consider the slide remote in the first place.

The fact it is wider but not as long would make it much more comfortable for those with small hands. Obviously the colour buttons are in the wrong order but AFAIK the red button functions will still be done with the leftmost one in the row. I could do away with the USB keyboard too, which I like as a means to manage links and type search text but is a bit cumbersome for regular use.

We're quite lucky, as since the upgrade the TiVo can be controlled in more than one way. Here's the full list as I know it:
  • Regular VM-branded long remote
  • US TiVo Bluetooth slide remote with keyboard
  • Regular USB keyboard or PS/2 keyboard with USB adapter
  • TiVo Commander Android app
  • Modified version of official US TiVo iPad/iPhone app
  • Simple "Peanut" remote iPhone app
  • Windows "VM TiVo Net Remote" beta, written by Andy Wheeler

It does work as the remote comes with a small USB Bluetooth reciever that plugs in to the back of the TiVo. Also TiVo on VM doesn't have WiFi either. It connects by ethernet to your router.

I will do that. It is £38.72 to be precise at the moment :D

It was £38.85 when I checked, which is why I rounded up to £39. Exchange rates aren't static.

My confindence in Tivo has grown since the update. I let Tivo find other TV shows instead of clipping, its nice and fast and the picture quallity is much better. Its really starting to take off, roll on next years updates.

At the moment I'm watching the full 2hr+ version of It's A Wonderful Life, (colour/hd) version on YouTube. found it via search on the main home page. Picture is superb and the app has'nt stopped or stuttered once.

Best to say that VM does NOT support the slide remote so if doesn't work on your box or it stops working - then VM will not help.

But it currently works just fine - and enables you to use different remotes for two TiVo in the same room.

A couple of buttons are missing from the slide remote - and the R G B Y buttons do not operate to the colours expecxted - but not a serious issue.

And it has a backlight.
