Gives them an extra hour to make up the "science".

Another national lockdown will be an embarrassment for him. I can’t believe he’d go for it.

I don’t understand why he went so hard against it only days/weeks ago. He had great fun mocking Starmer for it and ruling it out in interviews. Given SAGE had advised it and at the time cases were rising he must have known he might have to do it. Why not leave yourself an out?

Given the consequences this will have on the economy and peoples lives I think they deserve some leeway to try everything they can to avoid it but the bombastic way in which they’ve dismissed it makes them look like idiots without a plan.

Well ........not really a “lockdown” is it. Basically they have sacrificed the pub/restaurant sector on the altar of COVID 19, when there’s no real evidence ( that I have seen) that they are the breeding grounds for infection.

More half-arsed, I’ll thought knee-jerk reaction.

The "hospitality sector" might not be the places people get infected often, but the crowds milling about back-and-forth could be.

:dunce:

I walked into a supermarket yesterday (prescriptions to collect) and was shocked by the crowds of families loading trolleys like it was the end of the world. I got in-and-out in minutes.

Maybe the delays are because the Cabinet don't fully agree or there is trouble from backbench MPs. ;)
