5' 10" was from the live BBC feed, subsequently:

Ooops, a 'rare' BBC mistake! Guess 5' 10" was correct...

Awful, awful awful performance. No team has played consistently like champions all season.

We've only ended up at the top due to chance and decisions going our way. I've said this before and I'll say it again, if we played a properly quality team like Barcelona we'd get slaughtered in a footballing masterclass. SAF needs to pull some sort of rabbit our of his hat quickly. If City can sign a team instead of 11 individuals ready for next season they'll leave us FAR behind.

5 points clear? We can blow that easily.

I hate the guy for some reason, a complete waste of space but i would not use him as a scapegoat if I were Liverpool. Theres major issues within Liverpool that need sorting out for the club to move forward and its not all to do with the squad. The mind frame, this us against you crap is holding the club back. Supporting a player such as Suarez is all very good but the club officials have stepped over line and now are lost in their own ways.

I don't think he'll be the only one walking the plank. He was undoubtedly going anyway but this is most likely a strategically released decision to divert attention from the team in the current run of poor form. Gives the snouts in the press something else to jibber-jabber and speculate about in the run-up to the semi.

Welcome to my world!

We need to win 4 out of our next 5 to be sure of a 3rd place finish. 2 games is enough to find ourselves in 5th! After the season we've had 3rd would be incredible, 4th great. However I am bricking it that we will blow it. Its the hope I can't stand. :D At least it seems City aren't giving up, need them to take points off Newcastle.

Win against Wigan and Chelsea and I think top 4 would be safe.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will this summer look to lure Ajax pair Jan Vertonghen & Christian Eriksen after being assured by his board that funds will be made available to him in order to launch a significant bid for the duo.

then you'll know that Vertonghen has sent out a come and get me plea and Arsenal will begin talks this month with Ajax regarding the transfer fee. his contracts up next summer so the likelyhood of an inflated fee are extremely slim especially when dealing with Arsenal.

danielf what positions does he play? ive read that he can play across the backline and in the holding midfield role. he's possibily going to be slotted in at leftback if he joins Arsenal.. will he do well there?

I couldn't tell you to be honest. I kind of follow the league from a distance, but I've been away too long. I was listening to radio coverage of Ajax-PSV the other day, and it confused the hell out of me, as Aisatti who used to play for PSV was playing for Ajax...

Uncle Peter 13-04-2012 18:15

Re: Football Season 2011/12

Vertonghen is a ball playing centre-half with good technical skills and a decent turn of pace. Not sure how he would fare in the premiership against teams who base their game on lumping it into the box. Similar type of player to Chivu so perhaps he could slot in well at left back.

Yes I am not that confident about United winning the title tbh

I still think you are ok...though seeing the fight go to the end would suit me. I don't want to be put out of my misery quite yet :D

Tainted by your club, considering the position the clubs in you're hardly well placed to mock others imo.

Yeah, i read that this morning. Strange statement, as it would need for almost every other team to play like girls.... :D (for Celtic to win the Champions League)

It's always a good time to mock the orcs and the classless, aggressive fool they have as a manager. :)

Well another shocking decision at OT again as the ref gives MU another penalty as Young dived again.:td::mad:

Did anyone expect anything different the moment he went down?

No but its happening week after week and surely now is the time for someone to stand up and say enough is enough and do something about this weekly blatant cheating and playacting.

Again you have to be very brave not to give a penalty for United at Old Trafford at this time of the season. See the last two games against Fulham and QPR...

I don't mind Man utd winning, but it is starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth..to watch it being won by cheating

They need to bring in video evidence after the game..and ban players like that...for life if need be...football doesn't need players like that...for any team

Re: Football Season 2011/12

It's getting too difficult for referees. They have to make quick decisions and they don't have much help. If you were at United, City, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool and you had to make a 50-50 (from your perspective) decision then surely you would give it to the home team. You life is much easier if you screw over the small teams.

I hate the cliche that these decisions balance themselves out at the end of the season. It's basically nonsense. Wigan got well and truly screwed against Chelsea, two offside goals, it's a joke. How important will those three points be for Chelsea and Wigan? If Chelsea edge out, say, Spurs for 4th place or Wigan go down by less than 3 points?
