We will soon be back to the Sunday night tin bath in front of the (imitation) coal fire, last one in gets all the dirty water . . and anyone that pees in it gets a good slapping :D

six inch gap under the door brrr ,but at least you could read the toilet paper:)

and there was no light out there,we had a candle

I was 19 years old when the outside toilet was converted to a gas fired boiler room and our kitchen larder was converted into an indoor toilet.

That's nothing. Nine inch gap under the door; less than no light and the toilet paper was yesterday's Daily Mirror, picked up from a tube train seat.
