But VM could be doing their own deals. We already have streaming services such as Clubland AKA, Worldbox and Tiddlers TV so I am sure other deals appealing to a wider audience are possible. It would be good to have something from one of the big beasts in the US, such as abc, CBS or NBC, or maybe an Australian channel. If BT can negotiate a deal with the likes of AMC, I'm sure Virgin can do so too. Liberty Global also have content of their own that they don't seem to want to share with us!! |

Not sure about Australian drama. Not sure how good it really is? They tend to fill their networks with US & UK imports. If VM really did want a HBO type Network, Why didn't they do a deal with Showtime, which Sky did a few months ago? Of those channels on Roku, excluding Amazon, Netflix and Now TV, how often do you actually watch them? |

It is true that rights to current shows get sold to UK channels already, but the same is true for BT's AMC channel. The library of the non first run shows are still worth having. With a bit of imagination, VM could give us a nice little choice of both streaming and conventional channels that its competitors don't have. And I still believe that it is possible to bring Now TV and Sky Store to the VM box. That would provide a more level playing field with Sky. |
