To be fair they should just put these channels out of their misery right now.

Well that’s the thing - if even these mugs are getting a reprieve to 2034 what do you think BBC1, ITV1, Channel 4 and Five will get?

Anyone making serious plans for 2035 would have them clearly publicised now. Radio silence from the Government, OFCOM and all the required parties. 2035 is closer to us now than digital switch off was in 1998.

Ofcom can only do what the Government allows and the Government are more interested in fighting culture wars than actually planning what will happen over the next few years. If they don't plan for change, there won't be any change.

Well quite. The state broadcaster has a leading role in distracting the proles with trivial matters distracting from Government incompetence and corruption. Best to keep it beamed into everyone’s eyeballs.

Virgin media music on demand (Channel 300) is no longer broadcasting from today

Has this service been pulled then?

What service? It has been a pointless EPG link for years.

I used to like Virgin Music On Demand, but for many years now I have been using YouTube instead. They have a much better music library.

Nobody ever, anywhere, used Virgin OD. It's always been easier to watch music videos on YouTube despite ads.

Also it is a very long time since the music on demand service actually existed.

It was chargeable when it was first introduced. IIRC they then offered a few tracks for free to tempt people to start using it.

Eventually it became free with XL, which was when I last used it.

When Sky basics left Virgin, they introduced Virgun Central VOD. I could never work out what it was meant to be, is it still going?

It was 20p per video when it was launch before Virgin added it to the old XL Pack.

Yes it was, so £1 for 5 videos and very easy to build up a large bill over a full month. A fairly limited range of artists too as Virgin only had deals with a limited number of distributors. Effectively replaced in 2016 by links to the Vevo and AATW apps. AATW channels have subsequently been added to the EPG in their own right and the Vevo app has changed significantly over the years and moved away from the music on demand model.

Just a barker channel for VOD content. https://media.info/television/channels/virgin-central

It also made more content available than would otherwise be in your package. Really it was only relevant for people who weren't on top tier.

I still remember channels such as The BOX (music television you control) where you'd phone up a premium rate number and input a 3 digit code to the music video you wanted to see, if i remember correctly it used to cost around 50p per phonecall.

Box replaced the satellite and cable Jukebox services.

'Satellite Jukebox' was carried overnight on Astra and was available to Sky viewers. The video selection was by a phone call but the selections made were very repetitive of just a few novelty videos.

Some operators as 'Cable Jukebox' which was only on a select few networks.
