Interestingly we have just had an email round saying that the anti-bacterial sprays will now be removed - perhaps more due to them discovering how much it was costing rather than on health grounds ;)

The rising number of swine flu cases mean trying to contain the virus is no longer an option, the government says.

Ministers said the emergency response would now move to a new "treatment" phase across the UK as there may soon be 100,000 new cases a day.
Ok now you can all hit the panic button ;)

100.000 a day eh i wonder what bad news the government is trying to hide after that little titbit came out to divert our attention. Still not panicing here and still don't have any intention of panicing anytime soon.

I know several schools that have had 1 or 2 outbreaks, all being mild cases but some of the info in that newspaper article has been overly exagerated.

The schools are open as usual. One kid is back at school after having treatment and lessons are continuing as normal.

Re: Pandemic (Swine) Flu

There was a surgery where there was a guy outside stopping people going in and giving them a spray of the hands, a tie on face mask, and a pair of gloves to put on.

The procedure was he would stop them. put a fresh mask and gloves on himself. fully kit them out before entry, and throw his mask and gloves in the pedal bin.
when they came out he would again put on a fresh pair of gloves and mask and get them to put theirs in the bin. wait till they were a few feet away from him before he discarded his mask and gloves in the bin.

this went on and on till we got bored of watching.

A guy who works in our building (A senior manager) has apparently said tht he has swine flu .

But this guy is a cock, he blames others for not doing work HE sould have done, and has passed the buck and get others to attend the monthly managers meeting in his place, and is the type to phone in dead to get out of something.

Now we are thinking WTF is going to happen?

A woman in the dept next to me is recoving from Pluracy, and I need to know because my mum is recovering from Breast Cancer and at a higher risk of infection.

Re: Pandemic (Swine) Flu

Hubby of a colleague has it. He phoned his doctor and told the receptionist his symptoms and thought they were similar to those indicated in the press may be swine flu. The receptionist gave him an appointment for that afternoon.

When he went to the medical centre the Doctor had a rant at him for coming to the medical centre with suspected swine flu and gave him a mask to put on. When he explained that he mentioned suspected swine flu to the receptionist he went out and had a fair old rant at reception. Apparently they couldn't identify who took the call so the morning part timer was getting the blame

Bloody shambles eh!

Anyway it's been confirmed that's what he's got and he's already on the mend apparently. I'm receiving updates second hand as I'm avoiding any contact with the colleague in question;)... just in case.
