Yes - quite shocking - he was a great player and true gentleman ! Sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues. Rumours abound but claims he was about to lift the lid on match fixing have been denied by the co-author of his book. Another is that a disgruntled fan may have been responsible but let's just hope the authorities catch whoever was responsible.

Difficult to drum up any enthusiasm after recent events but it looks as though India may be on their way home as well, Bangladesh only have to beat Bermuda to go through to the Super Eights.

At least England lived up to their ranking today.....

Ed Joyce and Kevin Pietersen hit half-centuries as England eased past Kenya, winning by seven wickets and qualifying for the Super 8 phase.
I get the feeling it won't last though

Well they picked it up a bit, only to stumble to 247 AO. Still if England lose I am going to blame Barmy Billy Bowden, Hayden was plumb LBW in the first couple of overs before he had scored more than the odd run, Hawkeye showed the ball hitting middle stump two thirds of the way up.

Ireland are not doing much better Jim.
It must be due to living in the northern hemisphere methinks. :)

Well its good to see the team that beat England by nine wickets is at last giving the Aussies a game.

SA were 27 for 5  they have rallied a little since.

First time in 70 odd years four England players score centuries in the same innings

At last we have a wicket keeper that can actually score runs since Stewart retired. Lets just hope he can actually keep wicket well now.

Whilst you can't really judge him on just one game, the wagon wheel in my last link say's a lot about his ability

Personally I'd like to see Adil Rashid given a go at some point in this series, he is already being compared with Shane Warne

Re: Cricket

Whilst four hundreds in one innings appears good on paper, Collinwood really had four innings in one, and I'll bet the bowling attack 72 years ago was a darned sight better than this one, If Rodney Marsh used to call Englands attack at the time 'Pie Chuckers' then this lot are grade 'A' Dibbly Dobblers.

The West Indies are a sorry side atm, the recent World Cup proved that.

Great maiden test century for Matt Prior, and at Lords too :tu:
