Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Thanks for your post weenie as sadly when it come down to it the practicalities of our friend passing away in his own home made it impossible as his wife phoned us up earlier to say he is now at the local hospice where he will see out his last days sadly as at least one wish he had will come true before he passes away is his family will be bringing in the beloved family pet to see him.

Yes certainly when the time is right l am sure they will be contacting the relevant people to voice their views on what transpired on very early Tuesday morning regarding his palliative care pain relief as yes his family were extremely upset that he had gone 6 hours without pain relief especially as a palliative care nurse came in every day to work out how much pain relief he needed on each given day.

I know it's for the best as my dialysis efficiency is deteriorating but they are trying to get me to go for six sessions a week.

And I thought three was bad enough.

That is a huge tiring slog if you do it 6 times dilli a week that is for sure but you must do what you think is right for you dilli.

More and more people are not indicating.
(not cool to indicate)

Why is everybody staying in the right on a dual carriageway?
it just makes me undertake them and pull in front of them in the right,

(not cool to pull in to the left)

People in their 20's who act like they are still primary school age. Ugh. I guess at the age of 32, I am now officially a grumpy old git.

Can't really say this is a moan or pet hate, but I will be worried now. I didn't know a coworker has a heart condition and isn't allowed caffeine because it gives them severe heart palpitations. So when I nipped out to McDonald's at break, I got food for her and a couple of other coworkers. She asked for a cappuccino. Which I bought because I didn't know. Ugh. Now I am going to worry about her until I see her next.

And if anything DOES happen to her, I will feel responsible for it.

Why do they not know this causes them severe heart palpitations  Mark try and not worry after all if I read your post correctly they asked you for a cappuccino.

She knew full well, but she was in a bit of a mood yesterday. I can't help feeling responsible though. Me and her get on so well, that they try not to put us on same jobs because (apparently) we muck around too much.

That's because your caring Mark honestly I'm sure she will be fine, I think this cappuccino has caused you a few palpitations though ;)

I know lol but for some reason when I work with her time flies past, like the other night we started shop floor at 7, get a message on our terminals at 10 to say break at half 10, I was like wow where has time gone.

Yes, I think it has caused me a few palpitations. I will make it clear to her that I will never buy her caffeinated beverages again.

Glad you are enjoying your holiday nash :) but l can certainly understand your disgust at the pricey drinks as my parents were on a cruise several weeks ago and the cruise ship was asking £10 for a bottle of lager and £6 for a bottle of Evian water.:(

Mum back in hospital and although we know it is truly the best place for her atm it is still hard. The cancer is taking over now at a rapid rate well it seems that way to me, as now my Mum is very confused the majority of the time and her personality has simply changed in the last month God love her all she does when we visit is cry and beg to come home which is hard on all concerned. I hate leaving her so what I did last night was waited till she fell asleep then left. The nurses were great as I stayed with my Mum until 11:25 and when I phoned this morning they said that she rested well so I'm glad I stayed till she was settled.

The trouble with my Mum is the cancer has affected her speech so badly that very few can understand what my Mother is trying to say which then leads to further upset for her :(

I pray every day that they find a cure for cancer then and then no family will ever need to watch this horrendous disease rob them of a family member.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Thank you all for your kind words. I needed to catch up the laundry today school clothes, work clothes etc so hubby has taken my Dad up this afternoon and I will visit with my Dad tonight. It would be easier if my sister could do some nights and myself the day's but I guess that makes to much sense her to share taking my Dad up. At the moment during the week I will be leaving my house at 1pm then after dropping my Dad back home then I will get home about 5pm then back to Dad's at 6:15 then back home at 9pm but despite this being unfair when it could be so easily shared between my sister and our household my main priority is visiting my Mum and more importantly getting my Dad there to see his wife. I will never understand how someone can be so openly selfish and self centered in our situation but as I have said to my husband what does it really matter at the end of the day all that truly matters to me is my parents not the situation between me and my sister as tbh basically I am taking the advice of two CF members (thank you, you know who you are) and I have stopped making excuses as only she knows the why's and whats of her inaction of her duty as a daughter.

A old boss I worked for 1989 to 1997, died on Saturday morning.

I still remember doing 16 hour days for 17 days on the trot, I ended up in A&E after collapsing from exhaustion, on my 71st hour overtime. He cleared 100 hours, which he didn't get paid for.

Sorry to hear this Den but I don't think nobody would want someone to suffer any more than they have to. He's out of pain now and although there'll be a lot of grief, in time that will pass and be replaced with happier memories. That's what I'm sure anyone would want.

Not allowed to see my Mum for 48 hours :( as the hospital said that I can not say for certain that my sickness is due to my Crohns and they simply can't take the risk of infection. Wish I was not sick at the hospital yesterday but I was and a nurse witnessed it so I was not even allowed go back in the ward to say bye to my Mum.

Yes l know what you mean as we are very careful when buying things like sausages as a good sausage IMO has to have 70% plus meat in and feel heavier and dense compared to a sausage with much less meat and plenty of other ingredients in them.

I think it's only recently that manufacturers have to state the amount of water in meat products.

You have to pay for decent sausages. These you can usually discern the ground meat through the casings unlike the pink pasty looking offerings.

It's been one of these days, went to open the (new) greenhouse window and the window frame fell apart. Then decided to try and screw together some of our new metal shed only to find the pre drilled screw holes were too small for the screws they supplied. Undaunted I got the ladders from the garage to get up and replace the smoke detector battery only to find when I finally wrestled it from the hall ceiling that it said 'non replaceable batteries'. That did it, poured myself a large glass of wine in compensation. :D

I feel your pain and frustration Tinky.

10am this morning I decided to compile and print out some information that my neighbours and I will need prior to us all meeting up tonight to fight a proposed building application.

I was lulled into a false sense of having accomplished all I set out to do in under an hour. Silly me.

Sent all the docs to the printer and waited, and waited.

Checked printer.

Out of Ink!

Remembered getting replacement cartridges :) but couldn't remember where I put them.

Checked the logical place, then the less logical places...... sat down and sulked staring whilst staring at a set of 6 drawers.

"Ah Ha" I thought. I'm going to play clever here and check the last drawer first 'cause what you are looking for is always in the last place you look. The dang things, hidden away under my paper supply were smirking at me in the last drawer I checked!!!!!!!!!

Replaced the cartridges and sent the docs to the printer and waited.

Took out and replaced the cartridges again....sent the docs to the printer and waited.

Switched printer off and on again. All that VM advise kicked in.......and all the lights came on so.....sent the docs to the printer and waited.

Waning light came on and I found that the printer had no WiFi signal.

Hunted for the clever WiFi password I knew I had written down somewhere............

1pm password was still hiding from me so had my lunch.

Still munching my butty I had a brainwave and checked in my 'Oh so unhelpful' VM folder:rolleyes: and under the obscure title WiFi/SH3 there was the sodding password.

Put in the password and all seemed well so I sent the docs to the printer and ........

Printed 2 pages then stopped, at least I knew where my printing paper supply was hiding after my earlier search for the cartridges so soon sent the docs to the printer

3pm Finished printing out 25 copies, couldn't find my stapler sod it!........

so had a very large G&T. :D

Even though you had keyhole gall bladder surgery 4 days ago Mr M my advice would be to take it easy as although its not as invasive as gall bladder open surgery it is still a procedure that can take a lot out of the patient even though recovery time is quicker with keyhole then it is with open surgery.

Work. Ugh. Specifically told them I didn't want to do overnight stays which has been OK up until now. Then get told you HAVE to do an overnight tomorrow night because nobody else is free to replace you on the 2 jobs we have put you on. Which means sharing a hotel room with a person who I've never met before because the manager will snaffle a room all to himself.

Having another go at fixing the oven clock / programmer. It's one of those with the revolving drums. Two of the gears in the reduction drive had stripped the smaller 10 tooth part of the cog. Thought I'd found replacements out of a washing machine programmer but when fitted the clock ran fast. Turns out they have 49(?!?) teeth instead of the 50 that I needed, the smaller part had the correct number at 10. The gears are modulo 0.4 and that's not common. :(

Trawled the net and the only ones I could find were from a Spanish company, 98p each but a whopping £15 p&p and you needed to be a company and register with them.

Using my hobby drill, a selection of burrs etc and some araldite married the 50 tooth part of the old cog with the 10 tooth part of the washing machine ones. I managed to work out how to put the whole complicated mechanical thing back together. And it ran! But only for a few hours: there's another cog with a dodgy tooth that actually drives the minute drum advance cam and it stopped there. Now it's hunt the cog to make a hybrid up for that.

Probably a good thing I didn't spend the £20 odd quid, then I would have been mad. Not that the oven needs the clock and we've never used the timed switch on function but I thought it would be nice to fix it.

If they snore, just wake them up, and say "night night" to them, and give them a peck on the cheek.

That should keep them awake for the rest of the night, with no snoring from them... :D

Yes could be but it would need to be hand finished as the surface finish isn't good enough for long life.

Not that manager, and I don't think her boyfriend would like it if I slept in the same room as her lol. No this is a male manager, it's an all male crew.

Given the very sad occasion it went very well TD as he was given a wonderful send off with his son giving a absolutely lovely speech which summed up his life and everything that entailed and my brother who was as close to him as we were was give the honour of being one of the 6 pallbearers.

My moan - some inconsiderate git has put a nice big dent on the door of Osem Jnr's car. He's always very careful about where he parks and is gutted but I've talked to him and calmed him down now. On the Richter scale of life's challenges, this is highly annoying but not worth losing sleep over.

Sorry to hear this Osem as one of my family had a similar experience as they left the car in the car park and thus when they came back there was a dent in the side at the back but as you say its not the end of the world in the great scheme of things.

Thanks Nash. It's Jnr's car and he's looked after it very well so is still gutted but he'll worry less about the next one now and if you shell out for a repair you can just bet someone else will get you shortly afterwards. Grrr...

Went to pay my credit card, had to update my bank card details as it was a new card, then tried to make a payment which was bigger than normal due to expensive new TV.

First the message on the screen said payment successful then after closing that box it said payment declined! I did the same again and it was declined once more.

So stressed me was now worried that 2 payments had gone through and cleared me out, so phoned my bank and explained the issue, and it turns out they now have a £2000 debit card limit for transactions and i needed to pay more than that!

Now if they had told me on the screen i wouldn't of had all this hassle, so i have now paid upto £2000 and need to wait until that clears before i can pay the remaining amount.

My son has received his Tribunal date (20th June) with respect to his DLA to PIP transfer. He had been awarded almost no points, therefore lost his right to PIP. We were told that the wait would be several more months, but certain "test" cases would be called forward early to hit the DWP where it hurts, by "solidifying precedents previously set by other Tribunals at First and Second Levels".

So it seems his case is important to the Tribunal Service, and that makes us more anxious than during the whole process so far.

Hang in there Taff, I would have thought that with your son's appeal being used as a 'test' Tribunal case it must be assumed to have a good chance of a positive outcome. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for him.

There have been a few tribunal decisions over the past few months that DWP has responded to by moving the goalposts.

The Tribunal Service has decided to put their foot down hard, especially when any sudden changes by DWP may reflect badly on the upcoming election.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks everyone, I am extremely worried about her. Nothing I can do though except wait and see, and be there for her. I've got a sneaky suspicion though it was drug related rather than epilepsy. She has her A Levels soon so I am suspecting she was using something to try and keep her awake to revise. Hopefully I am wrong on that, and hopefully it was just something heat related.

Mark it could be something as innocent as energy drinks, at my son's school during exam time some of my son's friends including my son were drinking energy drinks or taken caffeine tablets called pro plus to say I went off my head at just how stupid he was being is a understatement and of course he was mad when I told the other boy's parents what our kids were doing. Children just see these as drinks and not realise the danger of these so called energy drinks. I showed my son this in the hope he see's that his Mum is not talking a load of dribble.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...k-told-7533905

Please everyone who has children tell them of the dangers of these so called drinks.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

When will my neighbour learn that we don't break the law and we just want left alone!

Last Wednesday evening hubby allowed our son to reverse his car up our driveway while he was moving mine. Long story short we had a visit from the police stating that they had received a call saying that we were allowing our son who is 15 to drive on a public highway but were not willing to say who reported the incident. My eldest son took over as he is doing law and explained that our neighbour has a interdict against her, he showed them the dashcam footage in where they said that they were happy that no crime had been committed as this was clearly on private land, he also offered to them CCTV footage which they said was no need as they were satisfied that no crime had taken place. My eldest son said that he suspected that it was our neighbour who reported his brother and if his suspicion was correct would they please have a word with her as she knows this was private land due to the court case as both parties were in receipt of the surveys and he suggested the only crime that has been committed in his opinion was was by our neighbour and since he has given proof of our court case with our neighbour along with showing video footage, if his suspicion is correct and that she was the one who reported this incident surely this can be classed as wasteful employment of police time by knowingly making a false report since she knew this was our private property and not a public highway. When my son mentioned our neighbour again the police said so you have a disgruntled neighbour and my son said well you could say that but I can understand being upset at losing a court case and having to pay all costs but just because you have a interdict preventing you from harassing my parents that does not give you the right to use Police Scotland for harassment.

The police have since been at my neighbours house I can only hope that if it was her who reported my youngest son they take my eldest sons advice and explain to her about wasting police time and more importantly that she was the only one who committed a crime as she knew without doubt that this was private land as she has a copy of the land register (title deeds)

I think this proves our suspicion that this was once again my delightful neighbour trying to cause upset to us. I have asked my son if the police will now tell us if it was her that reported his brother and he said no but he is keeping a file just in case this should happen again then he said he will be asking the police to press charges as I really don't need this at the moment or anytime. Will this woman never learn how many times will it take for her to learn or is she really that unintelligent...

Anyway I have more things to worry about atm than this silly woman! but I just can't stop crying at the moment I just do not know how much I can take tbh.
