Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Since this new update all recordings I set seem to pre-select to starting 1 minute early and finishing 4 mins after.
I'm pretty sure I was able to modify that in a menu somewhere before or am I getting myself confused? |

You do it afterwards by going to Home > My Shows & Recordings > Manage My Series Links and for a episode go to Home > My Shows & Recordings > My Planned Recordings |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Thanks but I'm pretty sure I could pre-set this in a menu for every new recording. It looks as though I have to amend it on every single recording I set now?
I thought there was an option under Help and Settings for this. |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Thanks everyone for the replies regarding wish lists, that's great news! :D

Sadly no, the arrival of Express Series Link has resulted in the default for one-off recordings changing from zero padding to 1 before and 4 after. To set it differently when setting the recording you can either change it afterwards (easy to do if setting from the EPG by just pressing Record again and select 'Series Link & Other Options' then Other Options' although its not always great as it will start complaining if it thinks all 3 tuners will be already recording), or as with Series Link setting, select 'Explore This Show', then 'Get This Show' and Options under 'Record This Show' - bit long winded, but it works. |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
The thing is, Express Series Links would be so useful if the defaults could be altered. I think it's a big oversight that TiVo doesn't allow you to change the values, and VM requesting a default amount of padding which a lot of users don't want was a foolish decision. Now they've just made getting the setting the user wants harder, which is the opposite of what a feature update is supposed to do... ditto that with the stupid "after one hour, EPG defaults to All Channels instead of staying with user preference" change.
It's not for VM to decide what is an acceptable default for all users; it flies in the face of the marketing bumph about it being one TV solution for all people. Same with all the dumb recommendation bar shows which have "We love it, we hope you do too!" tagged on. Who is "We" here? It basically looks to me like VM are trying to make the TiVo more friendly, but having a company choose what a viewer should watch by using a line like that just comes across as creepy. If VM wants more people to adopt this, maybe they should loosen the reins a bit and stop trying to keep the TiVo so tightly controlled. |

http://www.tvmovies24.com/listings_by_day.aspx The Sky+ app and Sky+HD EPG says 11.00 Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe At first I thought Sky must be wrong however the show has just started and it appears it is indeed the show Sky have listed, seems bad for a broadcaster like Movies24 to have the wrong show listed on their site , I can't check TIVO so no idea what that's listing. |

Update Spider it would appear the listings are correct as you say on TIVO and on the VM tv listings site , however it would appear the Android TV Guide app has them wrong. |

VM don't make it easy sometimes. I want new features, but I don't want the ones that I find really useful taken away!! |
