Sky are obviously worried about BT's competition, and it looks like Rupert/Sky have done what a child does and 'taken one of their bats home'. Pathetic really. |

The pair have also pushed up the cost of a landline and basic tv packages to fund football. |

Probably, but the public are fed up with the pettiness of actions such as this. I in no way defend or myself pirate material, but the content providers need to look at their own small minded actions for some of the reasons for it's increase . |

But it should be in their remit in my opinion as its the consumers again who are the ones always left to pick up the increased costs.

If you think that a company is abusing its position then that's something for the Competition & Markets Authority, CMA. CMA: "We work to promote competition for the benefit of consumers, both within and outside the UK. Our aim is to make markets work well for consumers, businesses and the economy." https://www.gov.uk/government/organi...kets-authority Ofcom: "Ofcom is the communications regulator. We regulate the TV, radio and video on demand sectors, fixed line telecoms, mobiles, postal services, plus the airwaves over which wireless devices operate. On 1 February 2011 Ofcom completed an internal review and reorganisation. This was designed to reduce significantly expenditure in response to the challenge facing the whole of the public sector." http://www.ofcom.org.uk/about/ |

BT Sport's dismal Champions League viewing figures raise concerns at Uefa.

Yes one cannot be surprised at these dreadful figures but that's what happens when you sell your soul to the devil all in the name of greed.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
BT haven`t made full use of their Freeview channel in my opinion. Instead of it being off air or simply showing trailers for stuff on their pat channels they should be showing stuff like classic matches,re-runs or highlights of the past weekends matches. They should promote the channel too and advertise when a game is on live in the newspapers and tv listings. My mother only knows theres a live game on when someone mentions it on here and I let her know. But as someone as already mentioned I think they`re not keen on the channel being a success.
I can see ITV winning the next bid,if not outright then a share. |
Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
ITV won't win it outright as there is no way they can afford the near on £1 billion in CL rights fees because that's likely to be the price when the contract rights come up for renewal next time.

Whilst I understand these organisations want to make money they also need to think of promotion of the game , not everybody can afford pay TV. |
