Virgin Media Ireland are to open a new sports channel (and several more).

I wonder if they will be added to the UK service?

As Premier Sports was not sold recently, I wonder if they will be taking that over and rebranding it??

I'm guessing that works for you Den, as you only want sport on dedicated sports channels?

Theoretically, it should work for me as I don't watch sport, so more budget for other things. But it doesn't. The BBC should cater for all tastes and that includes sports fans. Pay TV has hijacked too many sports that should have stayed free to air.

The dedicated sports channels cover the sports properly PB which BBC lost the art of doing properly a long time ago.

den you know i love you but i cant agree with that comment. bbc coverage of european championships, world cups and olympics were superb. compare the coverage of the world cup to itv and youll know how good bbc is.

better presenters, better analysts, better commentary

if we're talking about how it would be better on sky sports where they could offer 24/7 coverage i'd agree with you but only due to the fact sky have dedicated channels etc

I just hope that Den doesn't complain the next time pay TV sports channels go up in price.

There are many other decent services to subscribe to for entertainment if one does not subscribe to Sky Sports....

But you were talking about sports. And since, with your approval, it's disappearing from FTA channels, what is your alternative source for sport?

You asked for my opinions on sport which is on the terrestrial TV channels and l gave it and l am only being honest.:)
