interesting on the iplayer. so as its the web version you get more content quicker (a plus) but being web based you don't have the same control of being able to fast forward etc which is annoying unless I'm missing something!

You can fast forward. :) Pressing the >> jumps to 1 min intervals

You can also control the time slider using the direction pad - the longer you hold down left or right the quicker it skips

I was told that BBC red button and ITV red button is coming before the end of the year and more red button services early 2012 .

I was told all this by the Virgin Media Twitter team

Can they launch during december ?

This Virgin Media staff member thinks so.

That's not normal behaviour, btw. For some reason the TiVo iPlayer app was unusually slow last night.

I had that too, it was really laggy on HD streams. There were some On Demand problems too... bit of a mess all round, really.

With Fast Forward on the iPlayer app, if you press slowly you get 1 minute skips, pressing fast can give 5-10 minute skips. Annoyingly, if you press |<- it doesn't skip back a few seconds it goes right back to the start of the stream!

I wouldn't take that post as him knowing when the red button will launch, he is just making a statement that it is possible from a Technical point of view.

@buddieboy2011 It's not wrong as it says we're adding new Red Button services before the end of the year (BBC & ITV) with more early 2012.
Is this true ? who knows.

Just look what happened with the iOS App.

When quoting its helpful to provide a link to the original post!

Also don't you get bored with repeating yourself constantly?

SD and HD Videos play fine on my TiVo box.

I do get occasionally buffering issues on youtube when on my PC.

I'm pretty disappointed with the new Youtube app. You don't seem to be able to login now so there are no playlists or favourites. The quality is better but this means some videos now have buffering issues.

Yet.

The login option on the new version is still under discussion.
