Sounds more serious, forget my previous post. Some kind of line/earth fault.

I'm just hoping the socket fuse box switch doesn't trip again with it unplugged meaning the fault lines somewhere else in the house.

Since unplugging it the grill at the back has gone cold so it was still doing something before, is it worth checking the plug for loose wires?

Check the plug by all means bit I don't think the issue is there.

You can try running on the mains but if the breaker trips again you need to get a technician in.

Freezer contents are OK for about 24 hours if you don't open the door.

It's a moulded plug so i can't get access to the wires so i think it is best i just unplug it as i think when it is plugged in it is partially working as the element on the back is warm and i don't want to take any safety risks.

Engineers been and it can't be fixed, it is something about the power cable running through the back of it, he says he has only seen a fault like this a few times in the last 5 years!

So now i have to wait for Hotpoint to get in contact as he said they should refund my £120 callout......still waiting i guess i will have to chase it in the morning and i hate phoning like this as it always takes ages.

Also have to find another 50/50 Fridge Freezer but i am limited in space, can't be more than 60cm deep or wide but the better models are well over 60cm!

On the plus side parents gave me £500 to replace it, but will likely have to get a cheaper make again because of the space issue.

Hitting rock bottom and slowly climbing back up only to get knocked back down to rock bottom.

More spamming of CF and lack of moderators to sort it out.

To get around this multiple spamming problem new accounts should be limited somehow to stop this kind of thing happening.

I can't do anything about it until i get home from work at 3pm tomorrow! Apparently i have registered it for a free 10 year parts guarantee and it is only just over 2 years old but guess i will still have to pay £100+ for the call out, i hope it doesn't take too long to get fixed!

My Hotpoint washing machine did the same. Tripped the fusebox in the middle of the night, when it wasn't even going. About 2 years old.

I think i plan on avoiding Hotpoint in the future, i just hope the promise to refund me the £120 call out charge they said on Twitter with in 28 days actually happens!

Lets hope this Hoover Fridge Freezer lasts longer as i still don't agree with paying £5 a month insurance for break downs especially on a cheaper model which i can't avoid due to space limitations.

After a long week at work, I ended up working alone for 3 hours despite it being a legal requirement I am not allowed to work on my own. I am so close to resigning. I would rather be out of work.

People who don't understand the difference between relative and absolute directory paths.

A company has sent me their component library to complete a contract job but all the references are absolute to a corporate drive that I do not have access to.

This is a problem that will revisit them if they ever need to bring in external CAD services.

The guy that fixes our appliances says cover of fridge/freezers is the only one he would take because they are not usually (easily/cheaply) repairable.

Our Bosch is out of cover but we can't really afford cover yet, Interesting the Samsung is equivalent costs £200 more but has 5 year cover instead of 2.

Some Fridges and freezers are not too expensive to buy, So the price for maintenance each month over a period of time can be more than the maintenance ,

You also have to remember that fridges and freezers are the most reliable domestic appliances compared to the rest.
