I think the Fridge Freezer has died as something tripped the sockets fusebox switch and now the light doesn't come on in the Fridge so expecting things to start defrosting soon and only filled it up yesterday!

I can't do anything about it until i get home from work at 3pm tomorrow! Apparently i have registered it for a free 10 year parts guarantee and it is only just over 2 years old but guess i will still have to pay £100+ for the call out, i hope it doesn't take too long to get fixed!

Is it still cold? It could be just the bulb if that's the case.

It's only been 1.5hrs, i can't hear it making any noise and i suspect items in the fridge like butter doesn't feel as cold so i suspect its buggered, i will know for sure in 3hrs or so i think.

Unbeknown to the rest of us, our son moved our chest freezer to recover something that had fallen down the back. Hours later I noticed the "on" neon was not lit, and the lamp inside would not light. I checked external fuses first, then opened the plug to find the live and neutral wires ripped out. A rewire and all was well... PHEW!

Well the socket switch has just tripped again so i have unplugged the fridge freezer completely as i strongly suspect that is the cause as every other device on the sockets ring main seem to function correctly...... bummer

With my fridge it turned out to be the thermostat. But without getting a technician in you can't know.

I will have to ring the hotpoint line at 3pm and hope someone can visit asap and my work lets me take the time off.

Sounds more serious, forget my previous post. Some kind of line/earth fault.
