Love it! Thanks for sharing it.

Re: The return of the UKTV channels.

CS staff are likely to be the last to know about any developments and have been known to openly lie to customers (including myself) to keep their custom, put them back into a contract, extend their existing contract etc.

I would take this with a pinch of salt for the moment; especially as VM have recently removed all the UKTV feeds that were running in the background.

Having said that, even the return of the FTA channels would be something.

Hi, at the moment it's looking unlikely that we'll be retuning to Virgin Media. We are truly sorry that this has happened.

Hi Mike, we know there's a lot of information flying around which is frustrating. We can’t give our channels away for free to a company that charges our viewers to watch but not does not pass any of that back to us to invest in more shows. We're sorry that his has happened

To invest in more shows? That's a laugh!

Sigh. Okay then, let's go around the loop one more time:

You: HAHA THEY HAVE NO NEW SHOWS!

Others: Yes they do, like Taskmaster, Red Dwarf, Judge Romesh, the Comic Strip Presents one-offs, Most Haunted etc etc...

You: HAHA I DO NOT LIKE THOSE SHOWS! I prefer QUALITY channels and shows!

Others: ..but some people do like those shows, that's the point. And without any money being paid to them, they have no budget to make them.

You: HAHA fair enough but they're not coming back so they shall get NEW QUALITY CHANNELS WITH THE SAME MONEY INSTEAD!

Others: So basically, Sky Atlantic and AMC (if they can negotiate those rights), and that's about it because there's not many other channels about and Virgin doesn't have their own?

You: HAHA yes!

*a day goes past*
*cycle repeats*

Very true, and a timely moment to remind people. However... if and only if CS staff start to say the same thing to lots of different callers, that's when it may be coming from a carefully-phrased briefing.

Where have you got this from? I'm not suggesting you're right or wrong, but just genuinely curious.

A source that monitors what VM are up to with their network.

Well I have a way to get Alibi, so no real loss.

I do like to watch HIGMNFY, QI XL & Mock the week.

You may have seen Virgin Media customers are having problems accessing UKTV channels (e.g. Dave, Really, Gold & Yesterday) as the two companies fight over costs etc.

Because of this, many have decided to complain (rightfully so) and either got a reduced bill (£13-£30 monthly reduction) or were allowed to simply walk away from their contract completely, without any fees.

So if you're a Virgin Media customer and you miss those channels, go on live chat or pick up the phone and complain (politely) to Virgin Media about this and see what they will offer you.

Thanks to Kevin.

When did UKTV stop lying? I thought there were no ongoing discussions?

You know, it is possible that there were no ongoing discussions when they said there weren't, and that there are some now...

Current wait time for retentions 20 minutes dont know for sure if its related but I suspect it is.

For those of us who miss these channels it really is time they came to some sort of an agreement.
