It will be interesting to see how well Southampton manage to replace the players they are losing. The entire backbone of their squad has gone/is going.

Ronald Koeman is going to have a tough job on his hands and he needs to start well or the pressure will build quite quickly.

Wenger said Jenkinson will compete with Debuchy this coming season. Interest in Javi Manquillo has cooled which suggests Jenkinson will stay.

Hope we don't sell Jenkinson just loan him out and hope he becomes ready to play for first team football.

that's way transfer market is though look at Fulham paying £11M for Ross McCormack and he never played in premier leaguer we know Borini can do it as he did last season for us and we sure need him

from the Sunderland Echo

SUNDERLAND are tonight thought to have agreed a fee with Liverpool for their main summer target Fabio Borini.

The Black Cats have been looking to bring Borini back to the Stadium of Light all summer after he enjoyed a hugely successful season-long loan stint with Sunderland last season.

Liverpool were reluctant to sell the Italian, unless they received a fee in excess of the £10million they paid Roma two years ago.

But sources on Merseyside have indicated that a fee of around £12m has been agreed between the two clubs, plus a further £2m in add-ons.

Borini is thought to be keen on returning to Sunderland too after netting 10 goals for the Black Cats last season and winning the Young Player of the Year prize.

The signing would be a massive statement of intent from Sunderland and owner Ellis Short, with the fee matching the club’s record outlay on Steven Fletcher two years ago.
