Ok a win is a win but it was hardly convincing against a club we should have beaten easily.

At the game tonight, virtually the same performance as the last two home games, all three could have been 1-0 either way, not a great display, Young and Giggs both very poor, Ferdinand shaky. Phil Jones put in a good shift and made some great tackles, not much else to right home about.

To be fair he did say he'd have picked scholes if he wasn't obliged to pick himself. As for the other two, Paul Parker was quality.

In my opinion you have to attack these top sides as just sitting back invites trouble.

Perhaps something to do with his complete failure to make it as a manager and the fact that United didn't implode overnight after he was shunted out

Juve have been knocked out of the champions league on a pitch that isn't fit for use. I feel for them but Galatasaray scored, simple as that.

Why UEFA even allowed the game to take place on a non-league standard pitch is beyond me.

Seeing AC go out on a dirty pitch would have been pleasing. Gala employees can now roam the streets. Arsenal were forced to stay in the hotel in Napoli because of nutcase ultra supporters.

And in positive news Theirry Henry on SS2 from 6 :D

Nasty little group of teams Arsenal could face, PSG, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. I never even thought they'd finish 2nd. We can face one of Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray, Olympiakos, Zenit St Petersburg or AC Milan.

No doubt about that. To be honest, you've already beaten Bayern this year and going by this season you'll give the rest a hell of a game. Where as the way we've been playing, any one of the teams we could face, could beat us. Luckily for us it's a few months away.

Yeah we looked tied and jaded. Everton has a hard game, this was a hard game, and Saturday is a very hard game. I think we're going to hit the wall at some point.

The squad hasnt hit top form yet though, that evident in player performances bar Rambo, Mert, Kos, Gibbs, Sagna.. basically near enough attack hasnt clicked. The games have been approached wrong. Vs Utd there was flu around the camp. Everton were shown too much respect and tonight had a knock on effect from the previous game.

Don't need an excuse for the Everton game, they were a good team and Arsenal have proved themselves capable so it's more a credit to Everton than a problem with Arsenal.

Nay, nay, not bitter at all. Had I been so I would have used  or  and not :D. It was meant as a bit of a leg pull, something that I always thought was classed as acceptable banter on footie forums. I think that thenry's reply showed that he accepted it as such.;)

And I for one have not made any excuses for United's woeful start to the season, they were poor most of last year as well. I certainly don't blame Moyes, apart from buying Fellaini who was not the type of player they needed, Moyes has been let down by far too many insipid and inept performances, some from good players and far too many from players who have never been good enough.

On the plus side I thought Walcott looked to be getting back to his best. Great advert for the Premier League.

God we don't half make things difficult by not killing teams off. A couple of Sunday morning goalmouth scrambles ain't good for your heart either. I'm not looking forward to the Arsenal game either. In fact, I'm not looking forward to any game at the moment. How we've ended up in 2nd I don't know. Another high scoring game at Sunderland on Tuesday me thinks. Then a trip to goal shy Arsenal after that....Fantastic entertainment in the early match today. Someones gonna feel the backlash from that....

Arsenal are still crap in Spurs eyes, and always will be.

Don't care as long as we finish above Spurs as we've done year on year.

Southampton aren't a selling club anymore than any other premier league team

You think wrong then, Walcott, bale and ox were sold when they weren't in the premier league

Steve Clarke sacked as West Brom head coach.

Another stupid decision made by people who simply have no idea at all

LOL Den.

We have only sold one player of note in the last six seasons - Ox.

FACTS HERE ;)

So that probaby makes Southampton less of a selling club than almost every other Prem side. :)

Yes especially after the serious problems he has had with his ongoing condition.

A bit like the Bayer Leverkusen game, hard to tell how good United were, or how badly Villa played, a bit of both methinks.

Yes a win is definitely what was required by MU given their current travails but by heck that Villa defence was poor.
