Just to fill you in the end of the story We had to phone back two hours later as the water was getting worse, Nice guy came and looked under my neighbour upstairs floorboards and there was the leaky from her toilet, , How could the first guy not do that to start with instead of saying wait till it gets worse,

Consider putting in a complaint.

Could you tell me if anyone in your family is over 80 and a blue badge holder and has no one to cut their grass or hedge, Does the council cut their grass and hedge for free, South Lanarshire said they only do this for council tenants not for home owners, But Glasgow City Council as far as I know do it for free, for council and home owners.

I don't have anyone in my family over 80, how much do local gardening services cost to do it ?

Can you not do it?

My local gardener takes £30 to cut the hedge that is 3 cuts a year £90
So my husband might manage to cut the grass , as the gardener takes £20 each cut, So that is what we will do , a lot cheaper than the council,, they want £320 for the season for grass and hedge cutting,

I hate to see neglected gardens ,but I believe if you have paid factoring charges and rates and taxes all your days ,surely over 80s could get it done for free, Why does Glasgow City Council do it for people with bought houses and others do not,?

To be fair how would the council afford to cut millions of peoples privately owned gardens when they're over 80?

I don't know whether there is a branch of Age Concern UK near to you but I contacted them for a friend and they put her in touch with a guy who now cuts her lawn for a lot less than the gardener who she first contacted out of the local paper. If you do have a local branch they may also know of any other organisations that could help.

I'm not easily offended, but I am offended by the so called experts who say a no deal brexit will be a disaster, or about us crashing out.

If these expert know the future can I have the winning Euro lotto numbers?

I would have posted in the brxit page but its been closed :(

Just like medical experts can tell you the likelyhood of a certain percentage of the population getting cancer, but they couldn't give you the individuals' names (as it is two completely different things - macro forecasting vs micro...)

My mum is in hospital and before I went to the ward I wanted an ice cold drink, but not water, all they had in the M&S shops was fruit flavorued sparkling water, which is a no no.
I though a coke, but yet again proper coke wasn't there an the only had the diet crap, so I had to have water.

Went to open the fanlight in the kitchen and the hinge has disinitegrated. It's one of those fancy multiple link jobbies that are used on UPC windows.

Happened the other side several years ago and I fixed it with a small bolt and nylock nut. Looks like I'll need to do the same here if I can remember how to get the damn thing out.
