HHHmmm - Well another day in hospital is ensuing. My feet are not in a cast so that's good.

Kidneys are still buggered which isn't so good :(

I also had the post just before I left and it seems that I don't' have to worry about the switch to PiP 'till 2015 which is a little less to worry about.

Still with the govt the way it is they may well change their mind on the time frame.

Sorry to hear your kidneys aren't good. I just had the results back from a urine sample and it came back clear which isn't good, so I'm gutted by it.

Was the letter from the DWP or from some other organisation? Good to have a bit more breathing space ain't it.

I have Polycystic Kidney Disease (and liver) - PKD/PLD. I've been getting over a chest infection that then turned into a kidney infection / UTI.

At the same time I started to pee a lot of blood with a lot of pain in the kidney area, which I hoped was caused by the UTI but it turns out the urine sample came back clear.

So basically from the results from an ultrasound scan my kidneys are now at a hemorrhagic stage meaning the cysts are now getting a bit too big which can burst, leak (causing bleeds) or expand further causing more pain but ultimately will end up as end stage renal failure as the cysts will overtake the healthy tissue of the kidney. (This is a hereditary disorder).

I hoped the bleeding was caused by the infection, so a clear result means it's worse news than expected. An infection can be cleared with antibiotics etc but PKD there is no cure so I know now the PKD is progressing. They are causing more pain than ever now so now I don't know where I stand. As long as whatever is left of the functioning (parts of) kidneys are working, then tests would come back clear till enough is enough and they then cease to function.

A few pics from google images here for a better example of what PKD is. (a warning though as it ain't pretty).

Saying that, my Crohn's Disease and Tinnitus by far has a bigger impact on my life. (For the time being). Also if anyone needs any advice about anything mentioned (Crohn's especially, then please feel free to ask).

You should try eating jacket potatoes, skin as well. It works wonders with crohns.

It might for some, but with strictures I can't tolerate the roughage. I have to avoid fibre as much as possible. I used to love jacket spuds, they were on my safe list till things started to get worse. If I ate them now I'd be in agony for a day or two.

There's no 2 people the same with Crohn's, so dietry advice tends to go out of the window, what works for one will be a nightmare for another. I've seen countless dieticians and they all give up and just either give you build up drinks or put you on elemental diets. That is pretty much standard for everyone with crohn's. They will of course try to narrow down the foods you need to avoid, but that is such a difficult task as Crohn's can and often evolve.

Fixed & I did it myself.

Fingers crossed the dishwasher is fixed. :D

And all I did was take the control panel off & make sure the wires were in place.
