Two happy thoughts today.

a) received my contract for my new job (it's not real until you have the signed paperwork) - countersigned, scanned, and emailed, with hard copy following in the post

b) my wife and I are off to New York / New Jersey / Pennsylvania next week for eight days, doing a bit of tourism for three days in Manhattan, then visiting relatives in NJ/Penn - I have used Air Miles / Avios points I have been saving up to upgrade us to BA Business Class (there and back); it will be a nice surprise for my wife (I am not going to tell her until we get on the plane). :D

Good news My younger sister is now in full remission from the breast cancer scare from last year. She's still somewhat tired from the various treatments but is fully on the mend.
