I think Virgin or TNT Sports won't reveal that deal has been resigned.

It was The Times and FT who updated us.

Also Virgin has all TNT Sports linear channels since 2018 when TNT Sports UHD did launch as part of 2018's new deal.

It looks like they have signed a full deal. Last week, ads for TNT Sports that were running on ITVX only listed Discovery+, EE and Sky at the end, tonight the ad includes Virgin Media too.

Meanwhile, Virgin seem to be ramping up their campaign to get customers to renew their contracts. The renewed contracts will not include TNT Sports unless purchased as an add-on.

The problem I find with the renewal emails is that they don't tell you what the price is , only "a little more" unless you press the renew contract button. I don't intend to do that as I've been caught before with another subscription where, rather than giving you options, it just renewed the contract.
Having some discounts on the current contract I think I'll cancel and see if I get a decent offer. Sky subscribers do seem to be having the same issues with pricing though.

Are we getting an app in apps section of 360 boxes? Or will it be via red button? Seen different views on whether we'll get an actual app or not!

It is on the RED button on Sky Sports.

It doesn't, it just lists the new terms which you then have to review and accept (or just completely ignore). I know what you are saying though and I thought exactly the same thing.

Re: Virgin TV (2024)

got the tv360 today. have to say its a nice little machine and quite speedy. i do like how all my streaming apps are built in and can be searched in one space. bit weird how they're really pushing the recordings on the far right hand side of the screen....on demand is king it seems for virgin media but it makes sense for them i suppose.

Only issue is being able to fast forward quicker. used to be able to jump to the next chapter of a recording (if thats what they called it....it was like a line in the recording every 15 mins and you could jump to it with the arrow to the right and a line on the tivo remote next to the magnify glass on the v6 remote.

other than that i'll keep messing about with it. seems a nice box. set up my series links again even though i dont think they're called series links anymore...

can't see anything i dislike with the tv360 so far. i'm sure theres a lot of little advantages with it i need to learn.

a reasonable offer too for the next 18 months just took a lot longer to get it.

Also apparently my internet wiring is wrong and its too "thin" that was discovered by the engineer. so i'm getting a wider wire installed in the front garden.

i kept all 3 big boxes and no mini boxes. so i assume the recordings will be kept separate as a result?

You can open the apps by holding the voice button and saying the name of the app, for example, 'netflix', or 'Prime', or 'iPlayer'

Netflix search isn't integrated into the 360 search. Instead there is a Netflix text search when selecting the search icon from Home and then select netflix from the "All" dropdown option on the right. It only shows netflix items and immediately launches the Netflix app when selecting a result.

To skip forwards/backwards 15 minutes in recordings - press MIC and say "go forward 15 minutes" or "go back 15 minutes". You can also say "fast forward 10 minutes" or whatever amount of time you want. To avoid adverts on streamed & on demand say "skip forward three minutes" or "fast forward 3 minutes"

The left and right arrow buttons either side of the OK button skip forward 30 seconds and back 10 seconds.

If you press the fast forward button above the '3' key, you have 4 speeds depending on how many times you press the button, when fast forwarding you can press the TV button to turn off the graphics, you can then press the play button to start watching.

When fast forwarding press TV button and that will switch off the fast forward arrows etc. For Stop press the back button or pause button, TV button also stops and puts you back to TV.

To play back in slow motion press pause then Fast Forward

Due to the way the 360 (Horizon) is set up in the other Liberty Global regions everything is stored in the cloud. The recordings are unique to the UK market and all the links for the recordings are stored in the cloud, and so they are all pooled together irrespective of the box they are recorded on and show up under one combined list. So be careful removing recordings as there is no undelete function.

There is a kind of workaround to view recordings made on the particular box you are using, but you need to do this each time.

Go to Recordings > Recorded > View All and use the navigational pad on the 360 remote to move the red onscreen highlight to the top and click on Recorded. A drop down box then appears with 4 options. Recorded, Recorded on this Virgin TV box, Planned, and Planned for this Virgin TV box

You can fine tune the boxes the recordings are going to be recorded on by clicking on Record, then on the next screen click Advanced Options, then on the next screen click on Choose TV Box, then select the box you want to record on and then click on Record. That program will then be recorded on that box going forward, even if the default recording box is one of the others.

this is really helpful newapollo! thank you so much.

so recordings will technically show on all 3 boxes unless you specify what box? handy i suppose.

how much storage is there in the cloud? for example is the cloud capacity the same as the three v6's combined or less?

thanks again!

---------- Post added at 01:48 ---------- Previous post was at 00:23 ----------

quick question....where do watch lists appear? i thought it would for example record the episode the next time it was on. but apparently it just gives you quick access to it once its available on demand?

still no idea where watch lists appear though!

Re: Virgin TV (2024)

Watch lists are near the bottom of the home screen.
If you have watched an individual recording you often see the next one appear in continue watching section.

The Home button gets you there too.

You don't have any storage for actual recordings in the cloud. Only the data about your recordings is stored there. The recordings are on your boxes. But you have a bit more space for recordings than you did on V6 because the V6 also uses the hard drive for other things like the guide

I find it best to use the ‘add to watchlist’ option rather than the ‘record’ option in most cases. My hard drive is much freer these days.

Freer for what purpose?
