When the new TSIDs are known, it will be a good indication of how well the new infrastructure will allow for the correct ITV 1 HD regions to be added at a later stage.

The London region will now out of sync with the BBC house style for SID numbering. The SID currently used for the England-wide BBC ONE HD service has been 17540 which, following BBC house style, should be the SID number for a London regional service. It appears that the new regional service for London has now been issued with SID 17536 - under the BBC house style, that would be the SID number for a UK wide service. SID 17599 would have been the correct number for an England-wide service. It will be interesting to see if this anomaly is corrected but it is, by no means, critical.

Wednesday's changes should be quite revealing.

A little late to get back to this but the TSIDs did, indeed, change. From the information available the numbering has followed the BBC house style. Still no information about TSID numbering for the sub-regions (Sheffield, Gloucestershire, Shropshire etc). The DBR scanner used for west midlands areas seems to have inconveniently gone offline just before the changes. That info should be an indication of how well prepared the new infrastructure is for adding the correct ITV regions. London kept the correct TSID region with BBC ONE HD taking the UK-wide default number for the SID. Unavoidable, I suppose, as the London default number is still being used for the red screen version in areas still awaiting conversion. It would probably have been better to convert London in the last batch but the changes seem to have concentrated on getting the more densely populated areas of England converted first.

Re: Freeview changes

Shropshire still hasn't been updated (on DBR) but Gloucestershire is using the West Midlands TSID, so BBC B hasn't been subdivided in the same way as BBC A. It would be nice to know what is being used in Sheffield (as it would take a different version of ITV) but, since Sheffield & Bilsdale became co-channel, both are now difficult to check.

Channel new broadcasting hours:

My TiVo box (Virgin Media) has reveal that HorrorXtra will broadcast from 8am to 3am* from April 26th.

*It will be 9am to 4am on HorrorXtra +1

HorrorXtra Channels start at 5/6pm right now

Do that mean HorrorXtra is set to launch on Freeview?

Can't see it happening. They shut one of their channels on Freeview clearly to save money. Unless the price of DTT broadcast has changed significantly in the last year due to no takers for the remaining streams, I can't envisage it happening.

Having said that, it might explain the RealityXtra2 "placeholder" at 3am to 5am on the Together stream. https://www.xhxf.uk/timeshares/

Maybe there was a Save Money Now, Reassess in the Future strategy going on?

Or maybe they couldn't get the deal they wanted, so we're holding out to see who would blink 1st for lower carriage fees??

Spare capacity hanging around fir a time is bound to decrease prices as less fees are better than no fees!

Re: Freeview changes

I would have think the THREE SDN slots WOULD BE full up by now:

*ITV put ITV3 +1, ITV4 +1 and ITVBe +1 on a weekly basis - until other broadcast wants to join Freeview or move from other stream.

or

*Do the deal with Channel 4 for 4Music, 4Seven and E4 Extra (E4 Extra can easy fit into Together TV slot on SDN) to launch/move. With Channel 4 reusing COM5 with More4 +1 and Channel 4 give Together TV a slot until Channel 4 deals are up with COM5.

Only my view due to SDN being own by ITV.

Sheffield is using the same TSID as Emley Moor, so no special arrangements to allow it to carry the correct ITV1 HD region. Sheffield should take Yorkshire - Calendar South with Emley Moor taking Yorkshire - Calendar North. All academic at the moment as both will continue to take the Granada HD Macro region for the foreseeable future.

The thing is, ITV bought SDN as an extra revenue stream. They can make more money by leasing the slots to other channels. Maybe there are contracts in place for broadcasters to take the slots when their contract with Arqiva expires. If the slots are vacant for a long period, ITV would benefit from putting their own timeshift channels on SDN full time and bring in extra advertising revenue. It's a complicated balancing act.

Look like ITV's SDN has got one stream sold to AMC/Paramount for HorrorXtra.

unknown at time of posting on what way happen to Together TV on SDN - Move to a new unuse slot* or close.

*SDN will still have two broadcasting slot free after Wednesday.
