I really thought the deal to bring BT Sport Europe to cable may have convinced BT to bring AMC over. It would certainly have been worth the extra £3 per month we are paying.

Might be getting it this weekend now as the joiner has phoned to say he's built the unit for it and is planning to come round in the morning to fit it. Must say I'm quite excited.

Cheers

To be fair, the media player app works fine after the first ten minutes or so, it's just during that initial use it can crash when populating the thumbnails and not be able to restart. I have been informed by a friend that there is a Linux media player that exhibits the same problem so I suspect Sony have used that.

would be a game changer to the people who thought it was too much of a price increase

Pity we can't download vlc player on our tvs as that is imo the best media player out there and works superbly on linux i have it on my linux mint pc, although tbf to Samsung the media player on my Samsung works superbly i've never had a issue but it could look nicer if that makes any sense?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Regarding AMC Global on vm do not lose faith just yet guys my source is adamant you will get it this month on VM, my thoughts are though you won't get it this month but you will get it by end of the year.

£3pm is quite a lot for one general entertainment channel in SD though but I hope it comes. Let's not forget that inflation is zero at the moment.

I agree and personally don't buy into this game changer , the channel has announced one exclusive show whilst I'm sure it will have others over time I think it will be a long while before we can class it as a must have.

Especially as the AMC shows that Amazon, did exclusive deals with a couple of years ago, e.g., Halt and Catch Fire and Turn, will still remain on Amazon.

I think it will have Sundance programmes on too in time such as the red road etc, only guessing though as i think Sundance is owned by AMC.

Hi everyone. Haven't been here for a long time, just wondering if there is any update regarding the channels broadcasting on UPC Ireland that aren't on VM?

Looking forward to getting AMC! :)

I wondered if they would follow up the launch of AMC with the launch of the Sundance Channel in the UK.

I think they will combine the two and may also go for other USA stuff that hasn't been picked up here AMC are quite friendly with WGN America who have the show "salem" so you may finally get to see that superb show too, mostly i think though it will be already aired content with a couple of exclusives and quite a few movies.
But there is options for AMC to work with other broadcasters if they would work with AMC that is and get content that hasn't been picked up yet.

OK, so the first video I tried to stream from the main pc wouldn't play on the default player so VLC installed from the app store and everything's good - turn the TV off mid video and when you turn it back on goes back to VLC and resumes.

Brightness issues on Amazon Prime this evening (screen keeps dimming), but so far so good with no dimming issues on any other source.

Also the tv has a satellite tuner but cant seem to filter encrypted channels so 'found' over 1000 channels but most not watchable.

Altogether pretty happy.

Cheers
