Before we all say good news can any Virgin employees confirm if this is true?

Staff members will not deny or confirm anything as they are not allowed to.

If that is true that would be superb but as with anything to do with VM I'll believe it when I see it!

Just so that everyone knows, Virgin Media is to get near enough full access to sky anytime on demand so you get all the good stuff from sky 1 sky living etc also if you have movies & or sports you get full access to on demand films and sport content there is a catch tho you need to be on xl television package but since most TiVo customers are then its a added benefit on your new box https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2011/07/6.gif there is some content on there just now the rest is still to come."

Anybody else have more information about this post, allegedly by a VM staff member, from the Virgin support forum?

What a wonderfully worded rumour! Just enough information to make it a possibility but not enough to make it a probability. Love it.

It may or may not be significant that the post has not (so far) been mysteriously removed by the VM mods on the Tivo forum. Perhaps when the new shift starts at 8.00?

The OP goes on to elaborate further, and claims again to be a VM insider with access to next month's Electric magazine.

A note of caution. You need to distinguish 'Sky Anytime' from 'Sky Anytime +' which is a full VoD service delivered over (Sky) broadband.

As I understand it, Sky Anytime is a virtual VoD service which records 'selected' shows on a reserved partition of users' Sky+ boxes - a bit like Tivo 'Suggestions' but without the thumbs-up thumbs down feature, or any element of indivdual choice.

Still useful to have though.

Strange that Gunslinger seems to claim to be VM staff on the VM forum.

some good news

Hi,

Sky Anytime+ is launching on our platform later this year. We haven't produced a full annoucement or any detail on the service because the Electric magazine is the only channel where we've mentioned the launch of these services, and we want a fuller shout (with more detail) to coincide with a press release and arrive closer in advance to the date of launch. As soon as our communications have been finalised, I will let you know!

Ben, anything news from you re: the Sky Anytime rumours on here ??? :)

Also any confirmation of if we're definitly getting Match Choice/ Football First via Red Button when it 'goes live' for the Premiership?

Cheers fella!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.

Can't comment on the Sky stuff because as with any launch, full details are confidential until it's announced properly - so I don't actually know yet ;)

Ditto for Red Button.

Soon as I do I'll post (unless MB gets there before me!)

That was posted above about half an hour ago ;)

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35278649-post590.html

However, I would expect Nick has just posted that to calm the rumour mill down a bit same as he did with the TiVo Red Button thread here http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/.../623757#M11607

:D
