Yes, I was being a bit facetious, but the fact still remains that the home secretary implied that a parliamentary debate would be needed to in order to deploy water canons.

Well from that "very blurred" footage (and it was i agree )you seem to have come to the conlusion that he was tipped out and totally unwilling to accept any other explanation
Was he not tipped out then?

At the very least the Police would have been unable to take action on the people behind him as he would have been in the way,

I have to admit I didn't see that, was that at the time he was tipped from his chair?

Sorry. Yes you did, at the same time I posted that you hadn't.

It looked like he just hacked the officer off. Seeing as he had to be dragged away (quite forcibly) by his colleague, kind of suggests he hadn't finished punishing him, either.

I said maybe. I could not see the video as the link did not work, maybe you would like to re link to a working video?

Not really, no. The water canon is not exactly a precision instrument.

Are you for real?

Have you never used a water pistol?

:D

There you go. His brother doesn't look too happy with the situation behind him.

The difference being I am open minded enough to not yet have made up my mind about what was going on.

Yes, clear enough for you to show how narrow-minded you are and feel no need to seek the full facts first. In the words of the youth of today, "epic fail".

It might be you have something of a valid point (not so sure about the narrow mind ;)) But I am finding it difficult to see how the footage can be seen in any other way. Is there something that I could be missing? To me it looks like a police officer getting angry and taking it out on a disabled man in a wheelchair, especially as he has to be dragged off him by another police officer. It doesn't look good. If he had been at risk on the other side of the road, which is not that evident, why would he do something that would take more than twice as long to get him to the other side of the road. It really is much easier for two police officers to move an occupied wheelchair, than to drag a struggling, albeit a disabled, man across a road.

If someone can provide a justifiable and logical explanation, I might concede the point. But simply saying that he deserved it, or that he was in danger, without showing that he was in greater danger than he was put in by this officer, I am not so sure I can be convinced.

we don't know do we ,because the video evidence that you are relying on doesn't show it ,it is possible that the officer attempted to wheel him away but because Mr wheel chair was (maybe)being so uncooperative the chair tipped on the curb ....or maybe Mr wheelchair has tipped it up himself to put the police in a bad light ...and maybe the second officer seen dragging the first officer away was doing so to protect his coleague because he knew that they where being set up

Some members have been on here arguing for 12 hours. That can't be a healthy lifestyle. Sorry, I just had to make that observation. You must have a lot of spare time.

But there is no certainty that he did that.

I am happy for our police to allowed to control the thugs with whatever means are at their disposal be it water cannon or baton rounds or preferably a mixture of the two.

The mistake has been all along allowing them into areas of power such as Whitehall where they have shown total disrespect to the government buildings, statues and the Cenotaph, a good soaking with a water cannon would have stopped any disruption in its tracks.

Any future demonstrations must not be allowed to enter Whitehall under any circumstances whatsoever and if required to prevent that happening the Army should be mobilised.

No other country would allow such behaviour in their hub of government and up to now our thugs have been handled with kid gloves in comparison to any other country.

As for bringing Chile into this I do not actually care what their police force do as it is not in my Capital City.

It's Flyboy's plan to suck all the Police in the UK into posting in this thread.

Then there will be none of them out and about to prevent the 'non-violence' during the 'peaceful' protests....
