Also I guess that we'll have to arrange for an engineer to come round to do the swap, which is always tricky because it means arranging someone to be in the house all day waiting for them. Ah well..... enjoy your upgrades you lucky people.....

5th April??? Screw that!!, I'll be on the phone to NTL tomorrow morning and see how fast we can get this sorted.;)

How many new customers a day are NTL getting? :D

Still no letter announcing the upgrade, is it standard practice to introduce an upgrade and then notify people afterwards?

I don't know about anyone else, but next time I am lonely I am going to call NTL, judging by the amount of sweet sounding/talking girls guys are getting through to :naughty: :)

Did I read correctly that the current 750k customers with a Pace STB were going to get upgraded to 1mbit until the rollout of the Samsungs? If so, has anyone been upgraded to 1mbit? (I was told by a CS rep that the new STB's were not being done until 4th April).

Any chance of stickying (or reposting) the upgrade and speed tests links? Sorry to be a pest but nearly 600 posts to wade through for latecomers!

Cheers,

Andy

So what do we do ?

Do we wait untill the modem reboots its self or do we go through the website instructions and pick the package to upgrade to ?

Guidance on the 1Mb Broadband service usage allowance.

What happens if I reach my usage allowance?

Over the next 12 months, ntl will provide tools to allow customers to measure their data usage. When these tools are available, customers who approach their data allowance will be able to choose to:
  • reduce their data usage for the remainder of the month
  • upgrade to a tier of service with a higher usage allowance
  • pay for usage above their allowance.
Until these tools are available, ntl will monitor usage but not apply the 3GB allowance, except in cases where heavy use is affecting network performance.

That would be like this then ;)

Has anyone found a way to upgrade their connection via a Samsung STB other than phoning NTL or waiting for NTL to upgrade it?

I'm now happier!

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 2048000 bpsMaximum Upstream Data Rate : 200000 bps
Happier bacause I'm still paying the same per-month!

One more daft question, has all this maintainance and upgrading over the last couple of days been affecting the service as I am having real trouble accessing websites and newsgroups though my p2p and email is completely unaffected.
