The Bourne Legacy - 7/10

Good acting but it felt that it was seriously lacking in many areas compared to the original trilogy.

The Bourne Legacy - 7 / 10, not seen the others.

Expendables 2 - 8 /10 - ok, the plot is weak and mostly predictable, but hey, tons of action, and some real send up lines. Gotta love all those action heroes in one movie. :D

DREDD

4/5

Much better than the Stallone version. Urban was excellent as Judge Dredd. Simple story, but done well and with some good (& gory!) action scenes.

BULLITT is the last movie i saw..

Excellent movie!!!!

I just got the VHS tape and the CAR CHASE is even better in ANALOGUE than it is watching it online!! (No surprise there) -- The sound is richer and just more pleasant....

Analogue is the best!!!! -- BEST PICTURE,BEST SOUND!!! (Especially in SP mode)

I was introduced to the movie BULLITT a couple years ago when i discovered this clip of the car chase in that movie!

http://www.hotrodsandclassics.com/Fu...os/Bullitt.wmv

Excellent and BEST CAR CHASE ever!! (And the whole movie is amazing) -- AND IN ANALOGUE ITS SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!!! (Boy stuff was so good back then!)

I give it an EXCELLENT rating!

Tom Clancy's Act of Valour

I'll give it 3/10 for spelling valour correctly. Other than that it's the ultimate proof that "real" Navy Seals shouldn't be acting (and Tom Clancy should probably retire). Blimmin dreadful as expected.

Unfortunately, Tom Clancy used to produce excellent books and produced some excellent films from his books (Patriot Games in particular). Now, he seems to have effectively retired and just licences his name seemingly for anything.

So, while seeing the name "Tom Clancy" on the cover of a book or video used to be a sign that that book or film was probably a good, taught, thriller, the only thing it signifies now is that Tom has sold his name to someone else.

That's not to say everything produced is bad. It's not. Some of the games are excellent, as, I am sure, the next Jack Ryan film will be.

Enjoyed it but hope they progress the character further than some teenager in a suit, understand the idea of it being early days but I'd hate so it become a teen flick. Storywise it has the potential to be a great series and felt more like the comics to me than the original three.

I'd give it 4/10. An all "star" cast that consist of Alan Ford & Michelle Ryan (both can't act to save their lives). The special effects are as useless the script, dialogue and acting (some of the worse acting going).

There's one or 2 funny bits in it which has pushed my score up a bit. How I managed to sit through it all is beyond me.

Shaun of the dead is in a different league and beyond compared.

I enjoyed it & I thought it was funnier than Shaun, must mean I have a vastly different sense of humour than yours :p:
I put star quotes just for that reason & you forgot to mention Honour Blackman & Richard Briers, stars in our lifetime even if they are a little long in the tooth.
I don't think it was meant to be taken with any seriousness & from the onset was done as a fun film.
As for the special effects, a British film done on a budget & most definitely not a multi million $ Hollywood spectacular so IMO credit where credit is due, a fun film worth a watch.

Skyfall 8/10

Fantastic movie and a really great Bond film with some great nods to the classics.

However I wouldn't say it is the best 007 movie there is. Seemed more personal and more about M than it was about Bond.

Anonymouse 30-10-2012 14:12

Re: Rate the last movie you saw

I'd have to agree. It's a good film, though; I treated myself to an early birthday present - plus my weekly train ticket was still valid, so I thought I'd get something out of it.

The only disappointment was that Silva had nothing to do with Quantum, which I was really hoping they'd follow up on. Or have they lived up to their name and vanished like virtual particles?

I'm not sure how many of the audience appreciated the significance of one particular moment, though Bond fans surely would: the unveiling of Bond's classic Aston Martin. Priceless!

I was impressed by Skyfall, primarily because they found a way of modernising Bond, and yet going back to the basics. The old favourites - M, Q, Moneypenny - are back, albeit considerably younger than before...especially Q, who rather reminded me of Richard Ayoade in more ways than one. :p:

Had a bit of DVD binge so here goes.

Batman: TDKR. Very good, the weakest of the trilogy but very good anyway.

Total recall: garbage. The Bourne Identity + Minority Report. The visuals are ripped off from Minority Report I would think it embarrassing.

Just poor all round .

Expendable 2. Average. You get what you expect. I enjoyed it, but winced at some of the lines. Good video game style killing though.

Looper, excellent, I highly recommend this film

I dislike Leigh Francis in general, the film is poor. Evidently tried to mimic the Sacha Baron Cohen path into movies and flopped on a massive scale.

Yes Clint is certainly one of the greatest actors we still have alive and he has done many many classics that have stood the test of time.

Ah, I love those Clint Eastwood Westerns. I've got the "Dollars Trilogy" on Blu-ray, and the rest on DVD. Awesome stuff.

I recently saw End of Watch. This is an absolutely amazing film, from the opening scene with its voice over about belonging to the police, right the way to the final minute. 10 out of 10 for me.

I also saw the Sweeney. Again pretty decent film, although one of the main scenes reminded me of the bank heist in Heat. 7(maybe 8) out of 10 for me.

Saw End of Watch last night - excellent film, kept the tension going all the way through, with "police humour" very prevalent.

The Hobbit - 5/10 (and thats being generous)

Seriously - all hype and thats about it - it was long and painfully slow at times, and singing ? seriously ?

Oh, and to top it off, after 2.75 hours, they didnt even get to the end of the journey.

Sorry, but
