Lordy lord, we got our moneys worth tonight. Norwich didn't even play that badly, that's how good Suarez was tonight.

And despite that still loads of whoppers in the kop texting and waving ipads around instead of watching the game!

Forgetting obertan. Anyway no discredit to Swansea but Howard Webb had a shocker last night. Swansea won in the end but I couldn't believe some of the key decisions that were denied. Refereeing has been shocking so far this season for multiple teams. West brom at Chelsea and so on. Shelvey is somehow on the pitch after a butting heads with debuchy.

I would give him some time. He deserves at least a season. You can't expect to dominate indefinitely and it's not easy to succeed one of the greatest managers of all time who was there for over 25 years. Especially not when the team you inherited has lacked investment and is short in several areas..

I agree. I think he should get a few seasons to show his worth. No point dropping him so quickly. If after 25 years, and he still hasn't sorted it...then think about replacing him

I think a bad problem with AVB, he is not strong enough with the squad. Spurs have got to be more tougher with the team he selects.

Soldado, l think has had enough time as a proven striker to show his worth at Spurs, he hasn't, his goal tally is poor. So far all the goals have been scored from midfielders.
Soldado should go in the January sales, we need to bring in a striker that is proven to start from the word go. Spurs don't have a reserve squad - they call them something else. Most of the 'reserves' side go out on loan.

Any Spurs fansd on here can probably correct me on that one.

I thought the issue was two-fold.

Soldado not scoring, not so much a bad player, but his reluctance to be in the box and for others to ensure he gets enough crosses .

And the lack of depth, defoe not in favour with AVB, adebayor just being a waste of space.

I was at the game today, just as on Wednesday a very insipid performance all round. You can carry one or two bad performances but it would be hard to pick out a single player who performed today, Hernadez probably did as much as anyone, he ran his socks off to no avail.

SAF was a legend but as I've clearly pointed out it took time for him to develop his team. United since 2003 have had a net spend of just £15 million less than Chelsea , Man City and Liverpool and whilst Ferguson did a tremendous job getting the most out of them and capturing the league titles I now feel the lack of real talent is clearly starting to show especially in midfield.

And signing decent midfield talent now is going to be very hard as one Moyes is not a draw for the best players in the world and two the competition out there for the best players is fierce to say the least.

You're all being too harsh on Moyes. He really gave Newcastle a game, it wasn't easy for them today.

That's the kind of ambition only Moyes can bring to the Red Devils and, to be fair, they did make it difficult and were only one goal away from getting that draw!

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

To be fair they played a revived Newcastle similar to that of 2 seasons ago when we were flying. It's evident it wasn't a fluke and we're cleary capable of playing with and beating anything thrown in front of us. For once Alan Pardew's tactics worked and trumped United. United's midfield was no match for Newcastle.... Can't believe this can actually be said??

Cabaye, Sissoko and Tiote are far superior than anything Man United had in midfield today.

Lastly, I'm tired of people claiming it's because the team is threadbare and defending Moyes, he had the chance to spend and a he blew his load all over a 6ft Cannabis plant, not the wisest way to blow £27.5 million.

No. They really didn't make it difficult. Newcastle didn't win for the first time in 40+ years because of what I said above, they won because Man United were absolute crap. Man United should be expecting to win, not ranting about making it hard?

I'm seriously incredulous at all the people supporting Moyes. Nobody would expect the man following the greatest manager ever to hit the ground running but neither would you expect him to hit the ground and keep going through the floor.

He may have had a modicum of 'success' at Everton but who the hell is David Moyes? Completely untested and inexperienced at the level he is now at.

My best Christmas present this year will be him being given his P45.

4th* official. 3 is the amount of PL titles he has, more than Tottenham have in their entire history.

Every manager in the league does it. Just Wenger and other high profile managers more so. Don't think anyone cares do they? Who would Arsene be without such trademarks like I did not see the incident. Never seems to miss his own though.

Who'd have thought it, after losing to Liverpool last year Mansfield Town have drawn Liverpool again if we can't beat Oldham in the replay.

He's not the man for the job plus he lost all the backroom staff when he got the job. You've only got to look who he's brought with him, Phil Neville and a few others to support him in his backroom.

Yeah we got cheated by the hand of Suarez when we played them in January of this year. We could've had a replay at Anfield. There's two teams waiting for revenge.

He had the best back room staff with Mick Pheelan and his crew, Fergie used to trust Pheelan 200% and was instrumental in United's fame.

And, they weren't his people so he couldn't give them the same level of trust plus he must have known Fergie would've been mooching about the club most days undermining him just like Busby did when he first got the job.

Kompany hasn't played well for awhile.

Issue is that lescott and kolorov have never played well, I suspect they both have selective memory loss...every game they seem surprised to see a football..as if it is an alien.

I don't get the hype with Bayern. Once they're exposed they implode hopelessly. Brilliant attacking wise but once you actually have a go at them they fall apart. Arsenal would hammer them in current form

Really? How many times has that happened recently? They lost tonight in a game that didn't really mean much and still unbeaten in the league. They are still favourites to win the champions league for me.

Yes really. They were one goal away from going out in the 'nothing' game vs Arsenal which would have meant no CL Cup for them and tonights could have seen them draw a group winner.
