So in other words unless l am misreading things we have to be a member of Spotify online which in turn will enable us to use the Spotify Tivo app.

There isn't Spotify online as such

Spotify is Spotify. Once you join you can use it on whatever devices your subscription allows

But you will have to have signed up for an account online - the same as you have to have an existing Twitter account to use the Twitter app or existing Facebook account to use the Gallery app

Spotify through Virgin Media

And on an actually TV related note

Virgin have now fixed the HD channels only appearing in the HD category. So Sky Movies HD for instance, will now appear in both 'HD' and 'Movies'

You need to have a Spotify account already but also you need to subscribed to their monthly package which is £9.99 I think. I use the app on my android phone and on my PC currently and its great. Being able to access through my TiVo will make it even better.

Spotify themsevles do one called 'Spotify Unlimited' which removes the ads from the free version http://www.spotify.com/uk/get-spotify/overview/

But it won't allow Mobile or TiVo access

Update from my tester:

My Virgin Tester has told me that the PBS UK Tests are encrypted so I have no idea on what package will it broadcast on - yet.

I think PBS UK will launch on the L or XL Package.

While I won't criticise having a new channel it would be nice to have one which isn't primarily a documentary one.

How about one which shows some of highest standard of US drama instead.

How about one which shows some of highest standard of US drama instead.

You mean, like Sky Atlantic...? :erm:

There's a hidden channel testing on ch 633 called TestHid 33 which may be PBS testing before it launches on ch 243, or it maybe something new. Place your bets...

A new transport stream has also gone live bringing the total in my area to 48, so it might just be VM testing that rather than a new channel.

Just had a look at the movies selection and saw the the thing about registering the primary device. You`re allowed to change the primary device 5 times in 1 calendar month, thats ok no problem with that but before I register my netbook and not my desktop, will I be able to watch movies away from my home or has it got to be the the same ip address as home.

So because your impatient and think Virgin Media even have the money to compete with Sky you want them to go into bankruptcy.

Genius.

do you have any better ideas, anyway virgin has one advantage over sky, faster broadband

You can register up to 4 compatible computers to the Player service as far as I can see. It's more about whether it's up to the job of playback more than whether its a PC, Laptop or Notebook

However Sky Sports / Movies can only be watched on one of them at any one time - this is the 'Primary' device

You're best to move to SKY then as you'll be waiting a long time for all of those coming to Virgin. Are you currently in a 12 month contract with Virgin for your TV package?
