Re: Channel ReShuffle
The regional channels (extra BBC/ITV regions, Channel M (Manchester), etc.) will remain. The numbers will change, but they're not listed on that PDF as they'll be different in each area.
You won't lose any channels as a direct result of the renumbering. |
Re: Channel ReShuffle
As long as my Tivo gets updated (I know it's up to Tivo to do this), I'll be OK.

Re: Channel ReShuffle
Renumbering? All I've noticed is that they are now all in the correct chronological order..Not sure if it's a boon or not yet.It will reinforce my husband's habit of not learning the channel numbers. He'll just flick up or down instead.:erm:

Re: Channel ReShuffle
thanks quadplay for this reply and same with Chris W.
On Chris W comments I assumed this is the national community channel which currently number 511. In sense quadlplay has probably hit the nail that these are general line up and there will be variations which will be added to the line up like local channel other area terrestrial channels like we get central & yorkshire. Maybe in future the might transmit them all then you could watch whichever regional news you want. Cheers for the reply folks |
Re: Channel ReShuffle
The alternative BBC1 (for those that have one) will be on 858. Alternative ITVs will be 870 and 871.
Channel M (Manchester only) is 878. Channel 7 (err... Grimsby???) is 879. Quote:

Not a happy bunny at all.
I like the channels starting at 1, NOT 101. I know it sounds a tiny gripe, but it p*sses me off that again ntl change something that works. |

101 works as well you know. |

Sorry, I'm being facetious, but seriously having one- and two-digit channel numbers just doesn't make sense on a platform with hundreds of channels. It works for DTT because there's only a few channels (comparitively) - those over 100 are special channels like Interactive streams and Radio - but cable has over a hundred channels that could fit into 'General Entertainment'. How do you decide what gets channel 15 and what gets channel 150 without upsetting one of the channel providers? Much better to have 140 and 150 - same number of keypresses then! |
