Re: Connection to BBC/Google etc?

It is definately a DNS issue.
I have just changed my DNS option on my router from 'Automatic from ISP' to 212.104.130.9. And instantly, everything that did not work, now works. I changed it back just to confirm. And again Adobe.com/google/yahoo partially or fully fail to load.

You might want to think about that a bit more. It's exactly the same as last time, google and bbc. If it was a network problem all sites would be the same. The cause is almost certainly the same (and as I already said, I know other dns services are under attack today).

Same problem in Middlesbrough. Just been on the phone to them and the guy reckoned there was nothing wrong with the service.

When I called NTL a couple of weeks ago, to say I wished to part company with them, why was I stupid enough to accept their 'bribe' to stay :dozey:

I could sort of accept if DNS has died/got 404 error, but how do I end up with this: http://www.uk.com/results/bbc?src=bbc

I just can't wait for my BT exchange to be upgraded to 8 Meg VERY soon.

I want to get out of here :walk:

That's down to spyware/adware on your PC which is probably taking over your browser when you would normally get Page Cannot Be Displayed, and redirecting you to the site you're seeing.

This is all becoming a bit of a joke now. I accept that these things do occasionally happen but this is getting fairly frequent now.

You would hope that some of the money we shell out every month actually goes on upgrading the infrastructure instead of the 'quick fix' method NTL seem to be using at the moment.

It would be interesting to find out what the availabilty has been in the last 12 months..............I would be suprised if its even in the 90's

I hope not  , fullyspyware/adaware checked this afternoon, in fact

It's only during this DNS issue, normally is fine.

no it's not. More likely the dns issue; ressolving the wrong IP.
