Re: Manchester proxy

I still wonder why ntl keep throwing money at these things, just sell them on and upgrade their external traffic capacity which needs doing anyway. Stick a £1 or £2 on new customer signups to help cut the difference.

If NTL slowed down their growth recharged for install etc. they would have the money to not need these and provide a better service for the customers they have, they have a big customer base their is money to be made by getting more out of each customer.

And those offices use corporate proxies rather than the public ones.

Proxy servers have nothing to do with ping times.

Re: Manchester proxy

I'm in Manchester. Does anybody know why I'm on the 'bagu-cache-4.server.ntli.net' proxy server? I've not got any proxies specified or anything. My connection is still very poor and I've reset the router/samsung stb numerous times.

Thanks

Re: Manchester proxy

Whenever Manc proxies was plying up I found Bagu4 to be a good one fast for a proxy. Plus Bill.C uses it a lot

Re: Manchester proxy

Sorry to drag up an old(ish) thread, but Im on bagu.4 which seems fine enough, but ebuyer takes an age to load (like 2 minutes)

Is this something to do with the proxy, and would I be better off using a different one??

TIA
