Some people deal with change better than others. I’ve never looked back with my 360 box. Those initial problems people were talking about have disappeared.

The series links are terrible.

Why? Do you still have the 360? In the early days, the system was re-recording what you had already watched and could not distinguish between the new and repeated programmes. That has now been fixed.

Yes and because there is no series link management nor can you series link something that's not in the guide. For instance, going from the V6 to the 360 is one utter nightmare. For example, I had over 100 series links on my V6, moving to the 360 means I've lost all of them and have to hope I'm lucky in catching when they are back on TV to set the series link.

If I had a V6 and it broke and got a replacement V6 then it's so much easier. It's a nightmare that the copy options is broke but that's another story, but at least you could search for all the shows you watched and set a series link regardless of if it was due on in 1 week or 6 months.

I'm not sure if this is still an issue or not, but if you are recording a series and it moves channel then the series link on the 360 won't pick it up and you miss it, I believe.

Still saying no, been called twice saying do I want to change.bdont see any point.
Question fast forward , is it like the V6 etc the picture speeds up or is it a guessing game to skip ads , as in Netflix ( not ads but I rather skip car chases etc) sky go or catch up

Not took much notice but I believe the picture speeds up, only problem is, it doesn't skip back a few seconds like the V6 when you hit play.

There is no skip back like the V6 - but most ad breaks are fine on the 360 with a "go forward 4 minutes" - or "go forward 4 minutes 20 seconds" if their are bumpers around the ads.

It's not, is it? It was broken for a long time, but TiVo fixed it last year.

ITV skip 4 minutes
Sky skip 5 minutes works a breeze

FF on the sky on-demand service is excellent. Better than TiVo as you can see where you are going rather than jumping blind

As for jump back, just press left arrow for 10 secs back.

One of the things that irks me is I can no longer set individual tuners to particular channels and then swap between them and use rewind. I used this when watching multiple live sports and could switch between them and rewind if I’d missed something important.

I use "go forward ..." as it is the same on SkyQ. :)

I tend to use "go ..." for channel changes too.

Not too sure, thought it was still broke but maybe wrong.

So skip is not much good don't like skip guessing. Have use that on sky on demand with the 360, so that sounds better, but on balance not an improvement for me :erm:

Yes, you can retrieve programmes you have missed and no longer in the guide. Just use the search button, and when you’ve typed it in, select it and add it to your watch list.

Changing boxes is always a nightmare. I made a list of the programmes on my recordings and bookmarks before changing to the 360 and simply put the lot on my watchlist when the new software was uploaded.

As for the series link management option on the TiVo, I used to use this to take off the series links I no longer needed, but I realised after a while there was no need to do this. On the 360, if I no longer want to watch a programme I have on a series link, I just go to my recordings and delete the series link (it’s one of the options when pressing ok on the ‘bin’ symbol) or if it’s on the watchlist, just press the ‘…’ button on your remote control when on the picture of the programme you want to discard and choose ‘Remove from Watchlist’.

The specific functionality of the TiVo may not be available on the 360, but you can achieve more or less what you want on the 360, just in a different way.

It’s also worth mentioning that although the ‘wish list’ is not a feature available on the 360, it doesn’t have to be a scheduled programme to flag it up. Most stuff is available on a search, and even if it’s only currently available on the Virgin Media Store, you can still add it and when it comes up on a subscription service you are paying for (or indeed on a free service), that additional option will then show and you can view it by that method.

I'm talking about actual new series for series links. The watch list won't pick up a new series and record it for you, like the series link did on the V6.

Changing boxes was never a nightmare, it copied your series links over on the website.

There is no way to see what series links you have set or not, were as on the V6, they were all there on one page.

You really can't, the series links is terrible if coming from the V6.
