Sadly, I also don't think it will be long before the Queen joins her husband. When one part of an elderly couple passes over, it's often the case that the remaining partner soon follows.

Just been on the news that Harry is to attend the funeral. Meghan has been advised not to fly by a doctor because she is pregnant so will not be able to attend.

It takes six days for a boat to get from America to the UK, so I doubt this excuse will wash, but it is for the best that she stays away.

Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all!

Its not very good really is it ? Rather have 'Jerusalem' or 'Land of Hope and Glory'.

A day off hopefully

Better not be like the selfish Diana getting buried on a Saturday... Everyone in the office was more gutted about the day chosen than her death.

It won't wash with the racists and xenophobes who have had it in for her from the start.

We are in a global pandemic. She's in an at risk group. Only 30 people can attend from what is large extended family.

Which is the one with “rebellious Scots do crush”? Or is that a myth?

No wonder English national identity is in crisis if nobody knows.

Lord grant that Marshal Wade, May by thy mighty aid, Victory bring. May he sedition hush, And like a torrent rush, Rebellious Scots to crush, God Save the King.

Google is my friend. Added during the Jacobean uprising and removed at some point. There was moves to get it added back but it was denied

Or it could still be there as the 6th verse but never sung

No Cruise ships are sailing at the moment - the CDC has banned cruise ships from sailing in US waters.

They live on the West coast, and it takes three and a half days by train from LA to NY, and the seven days (the Queen Mary timetable, if they were sailing) from NY to U.K. - so about 11 days, and the funeral is in seven days.

Or cares, we don’t walk in circles as we’re not carrying massive chips on our shoulders.

It exists, but it’s a myth that it was ever part of the anthem.

It was sung in the coffee houses of London by sniggering wags during the Jacobite uprising, and there’s an example of it published in a society magazine, but it’s never been found in any official printing of the anthem.
