I disagree with him about most things but if/when he exerts revenge on Boris I'd expect it to be further down the line, indirect and politically motivated.

I wouldn't expect him to open up to the Sundays but they will doubtless publish stories from people close to the action.

His next course of action depends really on what he wants to do next. But he doesn't want to make himself a risky hire at this stage.

Understandably so, as a recent poll said that most people in the UK would blame him in the event of a no deal outcome.

I bet he could write a compelling book. :)

If he were to see himself as an election strategist/media pundit that'd be quite a safe wheeze for him.

Hugo Rifkind’s column in the Times today is quite amusing

Friday
Dom has gone. He left this afternoon, wearing a suit and carrying a cardboard box. And I think we all know that could easily have been the other way around.

Anyway, some influential backbenchers have requested a meeting, now he’s out of the picture.

Some of them have never forgiven him for calling them “useful idiots”, because they definitely weren’t useful on purpose. Others are still smarting about the way he drove to Durham and discredited the lockdown they all disagree with.

He's gone. What's next around the corner?

From Sophy Ridge:

Quote:

Simon Coveney, Ireland's foreign minister, said that what happens next week is "crucial".

He added: "If we don't have a deal at some point next week, I think we have real problems."

It is incredible to take a step back and think that at such a critical moment - a week that could have profound consequences for the future of the UK and Europe - the prime minister has lost two of his most important aides and been distracted by one of the most vicious Downing Street battles that Westminster-watchers can remember.

Yes, the Cummings Diaries would make a great Christmas present! Will they reveal he did in fact make a second trip to Durham, thereby stabbing BoJo in the back who said he had seen evidence proving he hadn't? (I don't think he did but it would drop BoJo in it if he proved he had and get the book valuable publicity.)
He does seem to have a knack when describing Ministers with the terms "thick as mince” and “as lazy as a toad” deployed to describe David Davis. He could probably do a good book-signing tour, coinciding with party conferences.

I suspect he will work in something behind the scenes, likely tech-related, as oppose to pundatory. You want more likeable personalities as media pundits.

Presumably some kind of Brexit deal that Dom couldn’t stomach. No more Civil Service reform.

I would imagine Carrie will put her stamp on things, starting with a focus on the environment. ;)

This picture in the Torygraph amused me, sort of. A great and fearless newspaper.

You can do whatever you want, except take the piss out of the PM’s wife. That’s a line you can’t cross!

Which one? His first (Allegra Mostyn-Owen), his second (Marina Wheeler*), his current girlfriend (Carrie Symonds), his previous girlfriends Petronella Wyatt**, Anna Fazackerley***, Helen MacIntyre**, or Jennifer Arcuri**.

*who was his girlfriend when he was married to Allegra Mostyn-Owen
** who was his girlfriend when he was married to Marina Wheeler
*** who was his girlfriend when he was married to Marina Wheeler and was going out with Petronella Wyatt

(Other girlfriends may exist, but, you know, super injunctions...)
