That's a shame as it is such a good show.

Sadly its never simple these days :(

... reviving Manifest with another outlet would entail navigating already negotiated digital rights, as well as cast options that have expired
It was obviously too complex, or too expensive, to solve all the issues.

Maybe they'll have a calling or the Major will step in

Nielsen said Thursday that Manifest on Netflix ran away as the most streamed program for the week of June 14-20 — the same week it was canceled by NBC after three seasons. The cult hit sci-fi drama drew almost 2.5 billion viewing minutes for the two seasons currently available on the streamer that week, swamping everything in its way.
Manifest at 2.49 billion minutes ballooned from 1.11B viewing minutes the previous week, an increase likely to be noted by Netflix, which eventually opted not to order a fourth season following the show’s NBC ax. The missing plane drama had long been conceived by creator Jeff Rake as a six-season series, and fans had been pushing it to the top of Netflix’s rankings since it recently began airing Season 1 and Season 2.
Nielsen said Manifest‘s showing the week of June 14-20 was the highest single-title total on the Nielsen SVOD Ratings chart since the December 2020 highs of Netflix’s Bridgerton and Cobra Kai.

Re: Manifest

Welcome to the streaming world. Netflix don't care about the viewing numbers for aquisitions. Though they might for Netflix Production originals.

They have had a calling:

Manifest fans may still see their show return. Both NBC and Netflix have decided to renew talks with Warner Bros TV to bring the series back for a fourth season, per Deadline. NBC cancelled the series last month, and the cancellation caused an uproar with fans of the sci-fi drama.
Once the series arrived on Netflix, it topped the streaming service’s viewership charts. It looked like Netflix would be a good home for the series but the streamer passed. The series has remained in the top 10 and this has led both NBC and Netflix to each express new interest.

Manifest may be saved after all. Warner Bros. TV is working with the cast and writers of the series on new contracts for a possible revival by Netflix.

The streamer has also announced that this upcoming new season will consist of 20 episodes.
Thats an impressive count, basically two normal 'netflix' seasons (It will almost certainly be released as 2 x 10).

..... and as noted, the announcement was on 8.28 (US format date), and apparently at 8.28am :)
