Error 319 means that programme hasn't been loaded onto your region's VOD servers yet. Wait a day or two and it should arrive.

C501 is usually a temporary outage. There have been a couple of those in the past week. Again, try again a bit later.

Thanks for taking the trouble spiderplant.
For the best Catch Up experience will we be better going for the V6 box when my contract ends in September?

I am not sure if it causes a problem but my TV and Tivo is downstairs in the front room, my PC and Super Hub are upsatirs in a back room.
It is a 4 bed detached and both units are adjacent to the same outside wall.
Happy Easter Egg Hunting All. :)

Just wondered spiderplant, is this a fairly recent change then?

I seem to recall a while back, that the menu listings for OD were fed regionally while the "search" options came nationally - and that often resulted in the same issue if I remember.

Or maybe that was V+ not Tivo.

Error 319 will affect both V6 and TiVo equally, because it's a fault at the headend. C501 is a bit less predictable, but it's a rare fault anyway.

Hard to predict how well a V6 would work for you on Wi-Fi. You might need Powerlines, or to have the SuperHub relocated.

Error 319 was "introduced" by the software update last autumn. Previously the listings came from your local servers as well as the programmes, so if a programme was missing you wouldn't be able to try to play it. Now the listings are centralised and things can get listed before they have been uploaded to each of the regions.

It doesn't mean more content is missing, but previously you'd usually be oblivious.

The long term plan is to hold the content centrally, which will make the problem go away completely.

Re: Catch up

Are they ever going to get the catch up fixed? There have been no Channel 4 programmes since last Tuesday (11th). On the service status page it was supposed to be have been fixed last Saturday, then today but the latest is now Friday 21/04.

These are some of the progs that are missing:

Wed 12/04 The 100 ep2
Thr 13/04 The Good Fight ep3
Fri 14/04 Gogglebox, Spin ep1
Sun 16/04 Homeland (the last in series), Agents of Shield ep11
Mon 17/04 Warship ep2, Empire ep12

Given that the progs remain on the system for only 7 days I've more or less accepted I'll miss a couple of weeks worth of my favourite shows. And that is not to mention other channels with shows that appear infrequently - if at all.

I can't remember the service ever being this bad and I'm beginning to wonder why I should bother keeping and paying for TV at all. The only thing that stops me dumping it now is that I'm not sure what I could replace it with.

Many sky programme are missing for me,Elementary,Blind spot,Lucky Man,Criminal Mind's,Shades of Blue. I agree, the catch up service is really dreadful now on Virgin.

You'll probably find the online www version of 4OD has longer availability than 7days. I've used that option once or twice over the years.

Appreciate it's not the same as a full-screen TV, but better than nothing...

It does seem to be having a bad run of late, that's for sure. It'd be interesting to know if it's a problem with supply of content "into" Virgin, or the provision "within" Virgin.

And on Friday it was put back to 24/04 but checking the service status page today it is now listed to be fixed on 1st May. I won't hold my breath.

As this as dragged on for so long I think Virgin should knock something off our bills as 'a good will gesture'. I know it's been argued that on demand isn't a right so to speak but I still think we should expect better than what we're currently getting.

I hope that I am not tempting fate but my Tivo has been working fine on Catch Up over the past couple of weeks. :)
