I don't think we knew each other back then?

Anyway the England fans at the game wanted England to win - how dare they display such racist behaviour etc...

Totally agree. :)

I think you are suffering from a humour deficiency, old chap. This is just a load of old cods, and people need to get a life instead of complaining and wingeing about every little thing.

The BBC getting hoisted by it's own petard.BRILLIANT.They are forever implying "racist" at everybody that does not think along their liberal dumbocrat way of thinking. On a more serious note people who are,and i quote from the report "furious" about this advert really must have a sad,sad life and have had a humour bypass.Go back to your dark room and play bang bang shoot em up childrens games and vent your fury on anti-social media and let normal people enjoy a bit banter. Some people really are little snowflakes these days.Stick and stones..........

Like the rest of your post, it's contiguousness with actuality is, at best, non-existent (and by the the way, by the use of this argument, you are showing who you really are, as it recycles a previous proposition you used before you were previously banned).

Of all the tosses I give, your comment on benefits I claim are not amongst them - but, if you want to have a fact-based discussion (difficult for you, I know), can I point out that this tax year I have probably paid more in tax and NI than you earned, with you being a low-level HMRC employee... ;)

So Hugh it seems you're in the top 1% of earners in Scotland, I'm sure everyone here would like to congratulate you on this amazing fact. My earnings for 15-16 financial year were a little over £41k. Not an amazing amount I admit but I worked for it an I'm happy with it. As I do not live in London its more than enough to give us the lifestyle we want as my wife also works.

I can't see an issue with this. There was no direct denigration just a tongue in cheek failure to promote. It is the sort of thing that makes rugby so different from the sport with the wrong shaped ball. Each side can give and take a certain level of "abuse" but limit it to just that. The real "battle" happens on the pitch.

Another "benefit" of [anti] social media.

A large group of people that try hard to be offended by anything.
I doubt most could actually explain why they are offend, other than "I am". :dozey:

I dont know how these people manage to survive real life. :erm:

Unfortunately, the days of white males telling the world when they can or when they cannot be offended are over. I know for a fact most of the people in this thread that told me I am over reacting are entitled white males!

You're obviously ignorant to the Welsh Rugby fans backlash to this? Stating thier embarrassment which fueled the BBC's apology? I guess you're white and English? Once again thinking you can tell the world what is or is not offensive?

Re: BBC Forced to drop racist advert!!!!

I'm really confused. Is it offensive to the English? Or is it offensive that the English are telling the Welsh that the English should be offended? Or are the Welsh telling the English we're offended? Or are we offended on behalf of the Welsh on behalf of the English?

Incidentally context matters. Sporting jokes between nations isn't the same as decades of systematic discrimination against a race or ethnicity. I think it's a disservice to the latter to equate it with the former.....

It was Welsh fans embarrassment at this racism and the Welsh fans wanting to distance themselves from it that forced the issue! I agree Football fans might of let this slip. But Rugby fans are very very different.

Its very simple. Welsh rugby fans did not want anything to do with this, and forced the point. Rugby does not tolerate racism. I understand you may struggle to understand this. Fans banter is fans banter, A national Public Service national Broadcaster Promoting hate is not welcome!!!!

I understand your point, But we are talking about a public service national broadcaster! A publicly funded broadcaster promoting hate? You think this is ok?

What kind of Richard are you?

Rugby fans had no problem and until you can link elsewhere to where that's stated I will just treat your comment as crass ignorance.

Well, the BBC are anti Brexit and anti Trump (does that make them pro globalisation? Rona Fairhead did attend a Bilderberg meeting ;):D) But I have never seen racial hate come from the BBC.
