I pay £97 for ;

120meg Broadband
4 TiVo subscriptions
Talk Weekends
Caller Display

They offered

Deal 1

60 meg Broadband
L TV with 4 TiVo boxes
Talk Weekends
Caller Display

£88.49

Deal 2

60 meg Broadband
M+ TV with 4 TiVo boxes
Talk Weekends
Caller Display

£80.20

What do you think?

FTTC is available here next month so really don't want to need to go elsewhere :/

Can you explain how to get into the online chat? Do I download the hub?

Do VM think we are all made to accept these price hikes there's been two this year already. And why is it they increase at the same time as BT are they rigging the price.
Again if I make a return call on my Network3 PAYG it cost 3p for a minute, now on VM
its
last number recall 16.34p
Connection cost 15.94
One minute cost 10.6

So thats 42.88p for one minute return call and that's not including the £15.99 a month line rental, do I really need VM phone no I will cancel

VM say you don't need to have a phone line with them but....it's likely removing the phone will not decrease your bill much. You have to have the phone line to get any of their deals as far as I can see.

Even if you click on their recent adverts the deals are only with phone lines while they are saying you don't have to have one lol

So they say you don't have to have the phone line but then make you pay more for the benefit, so that you are better off taking it...

Of course not.

If you have broadband only, all they can charge you is the set monthly fee.

If you have a phone line, then you may foolishly actually use it, not realising the extortionate rates they charge. So in effect they offer the phone line "free" as bait for the unwary.

Got my letter today £4.95 with no explanation what has actually gone up,I rang retentions and spoke to Laura I explained I wanted to cancel my tv service and just keep bb and phone reasons for leaving the price rise, she agreed to put a 6 months £5 credit on my account and then then for the remaining 2 till my contract runs out another £5 so no price rise for me

What annoyed me Dave was no explanation as to what as gone up and I think £4.95 increase is outrageous, she said they have been getting calls all day.

Thats because Virgin generally deal in 'bundles', so depending on what you have you may not actually get the full per service increase, or if you've got some deals, may have a higher increase that the change to the services themselves

---------- Post added at 23:36 ---------- Previous post was at 23:35 ----------

So there is no easy way to break it down to per service.

It's connected to the reason the bills were changed.

That's a good point really. most people will have all sorts of things in their packages, and they just say the monthly price is going up by £42. but they're not saying what has gone up.

just sounds like random figures being made up regardless. if you don't pay it then somebody else will.

very strange.

What 6.7% increase? I've just had the letter and it works out at 15%.

Increase is going to be £4.50.

I have TV M+, BB L, Caller Display
Phone rental has already been paid year in advance.
Present monthly cost is £29.15. (Excl phone rental)

Am I reading something wrongly?

The 6.7% is the "average increase".

^^^^ Really good breakdown of the price increase, with info on how much extra you'll pay depending on what bundle you're on. For me (Premiere Collection), its going up £5 - glad I got rid of my second TiVo now.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!

Personally l am not surprised with the forthcoming price rises as the XL TV price rise is due to BT Sports being on there and the new forthcoming Sky channels agreement , The broadband price rises are for the forthcoming speed increases and the line rental is because it is a easy target for those who have to have landlines.
