Global Radio rebrand GMG Radio as Real and Smooth Ltd.

GMG Radio who own Smooth Radio on Freeview Channel 718 has been rename as Real and Smooth Ltd, by it owners Global Radio.

DMOL, the organisation overseeing the management of the digital terrestrial television platform in the UK has today confirmed that there will be a reshuffle of Freeview channel numbers around midday on the 19th September 2012.

Before it switches to HDMI for my Tivo, I often see the "new channels available" notification on my TV but it never actually tells me what changes have occurred and I can never spot them. :( Would be nice if it did that :)

Ofcom awards first local TV licences

The new licences are for digital terrestrial TV (DTT) channels in Brighton and Grimsby.

Al Jazeera to go 24/7 on Freeview.

Al Jazeera English will go 24 hours a day on Freeview channel 83 from 19th September 2012, the day of the planned Freeview EPG reshuffle.

UKTV to move Freeview channels numbers plus new Shopping Channel to launch on Wednesday.

From Wednesday:

DigitalUK: Freeview TV Guide Update.

The Freeview TV guide is being updated on 19 September. As a result, some channel numbers will change. Retune after lunchtime on 19 September to pick up these changes.
