On the other hand your processor could be struggling during speed tests thus giving you bizarre results.

Well Luxembourg is interesting. If you are a saddo who feels the need to pretend your internet is faster than it is it's the place to be.

I think Telford likes it.

Considering the processor I have, that's not likely :)

And it was definitely network side anyway, live tomato graph shows the peak 50meg usage for a few seconds then it dies away while the test is still running.

I use speedtest.net as it seems to be pretty on the money with what i have.....

No speed test will be 100% accurate tho........

Nope, no problems using the same London server as you have used.

However using Maidenhead speedtest result looks a tad different.

Re: Good accurate and reliable speed test

That's why I don't rely on them. If my connection does what I want and isn't behaving out of the ordinary why waste time trying to get the "perfect" speed test reading.

Re: Good accurate and reliable speed test

true. I only test because of an ongoing issue or I wouldn't bother.

Re: Good accurate and reliable speed test

Try downloading stuff from HERE and check how fast the download speed it.
This should tell you what you are getting.

ie if you are downloading a large one at 4.5mb p/s then you are gettting around 45MB...

This type of calculation works for me....

Re: Good accurate and reliable speed test

VM Gamefiles has been pretty slow and useless for speedtesting for years now. (also 4.5MB/s is 36mbps)
