VM have come a long way in the last 12 months in regards to HD channels, most things I watch are in HD now.

Movies on Film 4 HD and Sky Movies HD, Champions League, FA Cup, Premier League football on ITV 1 HD, Sky Sport HD 1&2, ESPN HD. Also Premier League Darts and Six Nations rugby on Sky Sport HD and BBC 1 HD.

Then there's programmes like Walking Dead on FX HD, Simpsons, Mad Dogs on Sky 1 HD. Marchlands on ITV 1 HD etc etc etc...

Well said, But who knows what channels they have got in the pipeline for this year? It could be all of the above or none of the above. All we know is that there should be more on the way.

They have to if they hope to tempt customers over from Sky , TIVO alone won't do it.

Looking into the old crystal ball, i wonder how many years it will be before VM regard SD variant channels as redundant like Analogue cable is? I will go for 7 years

We will have SD channels for quite a while yet due to the amount of standard Vboxes in circulation.

20-30 myears that includes sky because until all channells are hd the chasnnels themself wont clsoe sd channels and someone people wont have hd tv for about that time sio virign and sky wont do it until thenish

Quite a long time I reckon. But I agree, it would be nice. I would rather have 1080p than 3D.

Just looked on my Sky+HD epg (I now use it for the FTA channels) and there is quite a bit of HD content on the other ITV HD channels however a lot of it is films .

I'd have Sky Sports 3 + 4 HD and Sky Altantic HD over everything on that list. Sky Movies Classics HD and Sky News HD would be nice too. Surprised Eden HD and Good Food HD aren't on the list...
