Re: Virgin media price increase
I'm normally not one to complain about the odd yearly price rise, as long as my services improve, but Line Rental for £12.99 is ridiculous, considering how much SIM only contracts cost and how much I use it.

Re: Virgin media price increase
Line rental is still lower than BT's at £13.90 from April. Calling features on BT start from £3 each but BT does include free caller display.
Did anyone else find the price change website patronising? Making out the benefits of our services as being something we don't already know about! How about telling customers what extra services we're going to get with these price increases and fewer channels. ---------- Post added at 22:50 ---------- Previous post was at 22:32 ---------- Do any staff members know how the price of Mates Rates will be affected with the reduction of XL BB and increases of XL TV, line rental, Talk Mobile & International? |
Re: Virgin media price increase
Virgin line rental will be £13.74

Re: Virgin media price increase
Well I'm guessing the increase for Mates Rates would either be £3.15 if you have an extra STB installed or £2.25 if you don't
As Mates Rates is based on XL Plus 20 then the same thing would apply as VIP 20 - if you've been on it since before the last rise in April 2010 you may be able to reverse some of this rise by going on XL (30) as the discount would then place on the current version of the offer |

Thanks for the info Ben. Mates Rates does include an extra box as standard. I did notice my package price remained the same with last April's price rise so I'll wait and see what happens this time round. |

If you take Virgin TV &/or broadband (which most do) then it's probably cheaper to take your phone line from Virgin as well. |
Re: Virgin media price increase
hi i got the same email stating -
Dear David, We wanted to let you know that some of our prices are increasing from 1st April 2011. Lots are staying exactly the same and some haven’t changed at all in the last two years. When you have a moment, take a look here and you can see how this affects you. If you’d like to remind yourself which package you’re on, just take a look at the top of this letter. If any of the products you have aren’t mentioned here, don’t worry, it means those prices are staying exactly as they are. Right now, you’re enjoying an extra set top box (or more) in another room. So you’re able to keep everyone happy in your home. From 1st April, these will cost an extra 90p per box per month. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to watch the same great variety of channels and On Demand shows, whenever you choose. I looked at there term and conditions. And found this - J Ending these agreements If: a. Virgin Media Ltd, Virgin Media Entertainment and/or Virgin Media Payments increase their respective charges under these agreements ; b. Virgin Media Ltd and/or Virgin Media Entertainment make significant changes to the services so the services you are entitled to receive in return for the charges you pay are significantly altered or reduced; or c. Virgin Media Ltd, Virgin Media Entertainment and/or Virgin Media Payments make significant changes to the terms and conditions of these agreements (including the other legal stuff ), you may cancel those services affected without penalty by giving Virgin Media Ltd and/or Virgin Media Entertainment (as applicable) at least 30 days' notice in writing. If you cancel any services in these circumstances, the increased charges will not apply to those services during the 30-day notice period and paragraph J3 will not apply if you cancel before the end of the minimum period . If you do not give such notice of cancellation within 30 days of any increase in charges or changes to the services or this agreement being notified to you or, if later, receipt of your first bill following such increase in charges, Virgin Media, Virgin Media Entertainment (if applicable) and Virgin Media Payments will assume that you have accepted the increase in charges and the changes to the services and these agreements and you will no longer be able to cancel your services under this paragraph. So i called virgin media up as i'm in contract for all the services and they are all effected by the prices increase. i talked to the guy about the above he stated he would confirm with his manager if this was the case put me on hold and after a few minutes wait came back to me and confired that i could cancel all my services for free due to prices increase also his manager confirmed this to me as well. he gave me an address to write to too to give my 30days notices as you have to write in to give the notices. So you can cancel your services that are effected by the price increase if you still are in contract. :woot: so bye bye virgin media |
