Wow, it is much faster as well!
And what's better is all my Addons still work flawlessly.

Don't use any Tab addons. Though i wish they hadn't added the "New Tab" icon to 3.5 :(

Been away from the PC since my last post. 3.5 was ready to be installed when I came back.

Exif viewer 1.45 has been disabled, not a major problem, but also could turn out not to a minor one either.

The official 3.5 british download is still showing the build number (Build 20090624025744) in the top bar of Firefox, i'm guessing it's a cockup and shouldn't be there? Does everyone else have this?

Re: Firefox 3.5 RC1 now available

Very strange. I was running the Rc3 before and i even uninstalled it but still wrong. I'll try a different download link soon.

[edit]

I tried the US version of the install and it still does the same! Looks like i'm stuck with it or i edit the registry.

[edit2]

Problem solved, the tag is put there as part of the nightly tester tools addon.

That's because RC3 is the final, no changes...

Same in Help --> About

Anyone have this running on *NIX and can give me a run down on issues found or bugs fixed.

Thanks

Re: [update] Firefox 3.5 now available

Excuse the double post.

For those wishing to upgrade to the latest firefox using the distro *buntu

Download the latest Ubuntuzilla.deb and install.

Open terminal and:

ubuntuzilla.py -a install -p firefox

For the latest Thunderbird:

ubuntuzilla.py -a install -p thunderbird

For the latest Seamonkey

ubuntuzilla.py -a install -p seamonkey

Follow the prompts in terminal.
You will be notified of new releases in the future, just like when using windows.

Upgraded fine with Yast on OpenSUSE. And it really does feel faster.

Re: [update] Firefox 3.5 now available

Cheers xocemp thought it was a bit annoying having to manually download Seamonkey et al unzip etc for each new release. Using Mint here so I'll try that later, thanks to Aragaorn also, openSUSE is on another partition so I'll make sure that updates properly.

saying that, i haven't noticed any speed change using firefox 3.5 in XP at work, good excuse to surf more :)

Cheers

Al
